De-Addiction Awareness Program Organized in Payari Village

Under the Governor’s Smart Village Initiative, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chittorgarh, organized a de-addiction awareness camp in Gayari village of the Bari Sadri sub-division.

Dr. Ratanlal Solanki, Senior Scientist and Head of the center, stated that addiction is becoming a serious concern in the country. He emphasized that one person’s addiction can affect the entire family. He explained that substance abuse impacts not only a person’s physical health but also their social and economic life.

Dr. Solanki further noted that addiction is a grave evil that can prematurely take away a person’s valuable life. Program Assistant Mrs. Deepa Indoriya highlighted that addiction is a major social problem. Substances such as alcohol, cannabis, bhang, opium, gutkha, tobacco, smoking products like bidis, cigarettes, hookah, as well as drugs like charas, smack, cocaine, and brown sugar are commonly misused. These toxic and addictive substances harm a person physically, mentally, and economically, while also polluting the social environment.

Representatives from Aruna Dey Sanstha, Mahesh Panwar and Vikas Chauhan, were also present at the camp. A total of 42 participants attended the program and took a pledge to remain free from addiction.

Officials including Assistant Agriculture Officer Ram Chandra Dangi, Agriculture Supervisor Ashok Meena, KVK T.S.A. Hemraj, driver Gheesulal Meena, and progressive farmer Lal Singh Meena were present. Farmers attending the camp were provided with tomato seedlings and vegetable seeds.
