Udaipur — On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, a grand procession was organized in the Hiranmagri suburban area by the Mahavir Jain Jagriti Parishad, with devotees chanting praises of Lord Mahavir.
The event began in the morning at Vidya Niketan School, Sector 4, with a flag-hoisting ceremony attended by several dignitaries, including Mahendra Taya, founding president Dr. Himmat Lal Baya, Sushil Banthia, Arun Kumar Baya, Dinesh Nandawat, Hemant Pamecha, R.C. Mehta, Rajendra Daga, Gajendra Akhawat, and others. Members of the women’s wing, including patron Dr. Garima Dhing, president Vandana Babel, secretary Vidya Khatwad, and coordinator Chanchal Mandawat, were also present along with other community representatives.
The rally was flagged off by Jatin Gandhi, Assistant Commissioner of the Devasthan Department, Udaipur. A silver idol of Lord Mahavir, placed on a beautifully decorated chariot, was taken around the suburban area. The procession featured bands, drums, and participation from thousands of people, including members of various organizations and community groups.
Approximately 3,000 participants and around 700 two-wheelers took part in the procession. The rally was warmly welcomed at various locations by local residents and members of community organizations.
The vehicle rally passed through several areas including BSNL Pooja Bakery, Jain Temple Sector 4, and Sector 5 Mahavir Sthanak, where refreshments were arranged for participants. It concluded at Vidya Niketan, where the gathering turned into a large सभा (assembly). Thousands of attendees collectively chanted the Navkar Mantra, filling the atmosphere with devotion.
During the Swami Vatsalya (community meal), members of the women’s wing led mantra chanting, while Arun Baya shared insights about the Mahavir Jain Jagriti Parishad. R.C. Mehta presented a report on the organization’s activities over the past three years and expressed gratitude to contributors.
Organization president Dr. Himmat Lal stated that the Parishad plans to create a directory of all residents in the area and organize an annual सम्मेलन (gathering) for newly married couples to honor and bless them for a happy married life.
Several dignitaries from different organizations were honored during the event, and contributors were acknowledged for their support. Proper security arrangements were ensured by the police department, and volunteers played a key role in managing logistics such as tents, food, sound systems, and other arrangements.
Around 8,000 devotees participated in the event and benefited from the Swami Vatsalya, making the celebration a grand success.
