New Delhi: On Monday night, the Rajasthan Sanstha Sangh—the umbrella organization for expatriate Rajasthanis in the national capital—hosted a grand celebration marking the 77th Rajasthan Foundation Day. The event was held at the LTG (Little Theatre Group) Auditorium, located at Mandi House in New Delhi.
The ceremony was graced by a distinguished gathering of guests. The Chief Guest was P.P. Chaudhary—Chairman of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on 'One Nation, One Election,' former Union Minister of State, and Member of Parliament from Pali, Rajasthan. Distinguished Guests included MP Shri Jaiprakash Nishad; former President of the Delhi BJP, Adesh Gupta; and senior BJP leader Shyam Jaju. Also in attendance were the Chairman of the Reception Committee, Dr. S.K. Chandak; the President of the Delhi Chapter of the Rajasthan Foundation, CA R.A. Kila; the High Commissioner of Trinidad, Chandradutt Singh; and Satyabhushan Jain. The event was further attended by various spiritual leaders, prominent business figures, IAS officers (including Dr. R.D. Meena and K.C. During the ceremony, awards were presented to individuals who have performed remarkable work across various fields—including art and culture, literature, media, sports, women's entrepreneurship, the arts, industry and business, and social service. The recipients included the renowned physician and Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. S.K. Sarin (for Medicine); art connoisseur K.C. Maloo (for Art and Culture); the Rajasthan Government's Sanitation Brand Ambassador, K.K. Gupta (for Social Service and Sanitation); renowned architect Narsi Kulariya (for Industry and Business); celebrated Ghazal singer Dr. Prem Bhandari (for Music); distinguished photojournalist Purushottam Diwakar (for Media); literary scholar Bharat Chandra Sharma (for Literature); Govind Pareek, Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma (for Public Relations); and international gold medalist wrestler Ashwini Bishnoi (for Sports).
On this occasion, captivating cultural programs were presented by Himank & Team, Mudra Dance Studio, Kala Smriti Academy (Roshmi Majumdar), and Lalita Swami.
At the outset, the organization's President, Navratna Agarwal Bikanerwala, and Executive President, K.K. Nareda, welcomed the guests; subsequently, at the conclusion of the event, the organization's General Secretary, Chandra Shekhar Mishra, proposed the vote of thanks. The ceremony was anchored by poet Gajendra Solanki, Anurag Garg, and the organization's Vice President, Gopendra Nath Bhatt.
On this occasion, a message of good wishes from the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Vasudev Devnani, was read out.
It is noteworthy that the Rajasthan Sanstha Sangh is the oldest federation and umbrella organization for expatriate Rajasthanis residing in the national capital, Delhi. The organization holds the distinction of being the first in the country to initiate the tradition of celebrating Rajasthan Foundation Day. Following the lead of the Rajasthan Sanstha Sangh, the Government of Rajasthan also subsequently began observing this day annually. Currently, the Rajasthan Sanstha Sangh is celebrating the 53rd year—its Golden Jubilee—since its inception.
