Newly appointed District Collector Gaurav Agarwal assumes charge
Tourism development, ensuring benefits of schemes reach every eligible person, and accelerating development work are top priorities – District Collector
Udaipur – The newly appointed District Collector of Udaipur, Mr. Gaurav Agarwal, arrived in the city on Friday and assumed charge at the Collectorate in the afternoon. Interacting with media personnel, Mr. Agarwal stated that his priorities include ensuring that the welfare schemes of the central and state governments reach the last mile, providing maximum benefits to citizens, accelerating development works in the district, and promoting tourism in Udaipur.
Mr. Agarwal reached the Circuit House on Friday afternoon, where he was received by ADM (Administration) Deependra Singh Rathore, ADM (City) Jitendra Ojha, and Girwa SDM Avula Sai Krishna, among others. He later reached the Collectorate at around 3:30 PM and formally took charge. On this occasion, both ADMs, Girwa SDM Mr. Sai Krishna, trainee IAS Srishti Dabas, UDA Secretary Hemendra Nagar, along with district-level officers from various departments and Collectorate staff, welcomed him.
After assuming office, Mr. Agarwal held a brief introductory meeting with officials and reviewed the current administrative setup, major schemes, and progress of development works in the district. He directed all departments to work in coordination to ensure effective implementation of schemes so that eligible beneficiaries receive timely benefits.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Agarwal said that Udaipur represents Rajasthan on the tourism map and is widely recognized for its hospitality. Its rich history and natural beauty attract visitors from across the world. He emphasized that while preserving this prestigious identity, efforts will be made to expand tourism facilities, improve cleanliness, and enhance the overall experience for tourists.
He added that the administration’s priority will be to resolve public grievances promptly and ensure that government schemes reach the grassroots level. The public hearing system will be further strengthened to ensure timely and transparent resolution of complaints. He also highlighted that special focus will be given to the development of education, healthcare, drinking water, roads, and other basic infrastructure in the district.
Mr. Agarwal instructed officials to work with sensitivity, transparency, and accountability in matters related to the public, so as to strengthen people’s trust in the administration. He expressed confidence that with teamwork and dedication, the district administration will take Udaipur to new heights of development.
