Udaipur – Under the statewide “Strengthen Organization – Save Democracy” public awareness campaign, the Udaipur Rural District Congress Committee organized a जन-जागरण (public outreach) program in the Jhadol विधानसभा (assembly) constituency.
District Congress leader Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit informed that the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee is running this awareness campaign across the state throughout April. As part of this initiative, today’s program was held in the Jhadol constituency.
Addressing the meeting, Udaipur Rural District Congress President Raghuveer Singh Meena alleged that the BJP government is openly undermining democracy. He stated that the government is disregarding the judiciary, the law, the Constitution, and constitutional institutions. He pointed out that the Hon’ble Court has clearly directed that Panchayat and municipal elections be conducted by April 15, failing which it would amount to contempt of court. However, he alleged that elections are being deliberately delayed, depriving people of their rights, and administrators have been appointed in place of elected representatives, which has stalled the entire system and halted development works.
He further stated that the present “parchi government” is more concerned about retaining power than serving the public or protecting democracy.
The campaign meeting was attended by Udaipur Rural District Congress President Raghuveer Singh Meena, Lok Sabha candidate Tarachand Meena, PCC Vice President Heera Lal Darangi, Sunil Bhajat, Jhadol Block President Rajendra Jain, Kotda Block President Raisa Ram Kher, Sevadal President Mohabbat Singh Ranawat, former Zila Parishad member Chunni Lal Sankhla, along with several other office bearers and Congress workers.
