Bagolia Feeder to become a lifeline for Mavli region

Udaipur – In line with the state government’s commitment to implement budget announcements on the ground and strengthen water resources, the Water Resources Department is conducting a 10-day special campaign. Under this initiative, Chief Engineer and Additional Chief Engineer level officers are carrying out intensive inspections of various projects.

As part of this अभियान, Chief Engineer (Banswara Division) Devi Singh Beniwal conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing Bagolia Feeder construction work in Udaipur district on Friday. He reviewed the progress, quality, and timelines of the project and issued necessary directions to officials.

Mavli to benefit from surplus water of Udaisagar

During the inspection, Mr. Beniwal stated that the Mavli region has long remained a dark zone in terms of rainfall and drinking water availability. Addressing a long-pending demand of local residents, the project—announced under the Chief Minister’s Budget 2024–25—aims to divert surplus monsoon water from Udaisagar Dam through the Bagolia Feeder.

Bagolia Feeder – Key Highlights

  • Length: Approximately 30 km feeder from chain number 480 of the left main canal of Udaisagar Dam

  • Capacity: 138 cusecs

  • Water availability: Around 180 MCFT of surplus water during the monsoon will be diverted to Bagolia Dam

  • Beneficiaries: Irrigation water will be provided to 3,676 hectares of land across 17 villages in the Mavli region

No compromise on quality, strict instructions issued

The Chief Engineer emphasized maintaining high construction quality. He directed the executing agency and concerned officials to ensure regular testing of construction materials and strict adherence to approved technical standards and designs. He warned that any negligence or unnecessary delay would not be tolerated.

He also instructed that proper safety measures and essential facilities be ensured for workers at the site. Officials have been asked to submit regular progress reports for continuous monitoring.

During the inspection and review meeting, Additional Chief Engineer (Water Resources Division, Udaipur) also assessed the ongoing works. Additional Chief Engineer Dhirendra Singh Sagar, Superintending Engineer Manoj Jain, Executive Engineer Mohit Patidar, Assistant Engineer Rajesh Kumar, Junior Engineer Ajay Singh Gurjar, and representatives of the executing agency were present.
