Kota: Under the joint aegis of the Hindi Sahitya Samiti and the Rajbhasha Department of West Central Railway, Kota Division, two books by children’s author and senior loco pilot Salim Swatantra—“Sabse Achhi Apni Rail” and “Desh Hamara Sabse Pyara”—were officially launched at the Menal Officers Club.
The chief guest on the occasion was Rajkumar Prajapati, Deputy Chief Financial Advisor and Accounts Officer. The program was presided over by renowned children’s storyteller Dr. Raghuraj Singh Karmayogi. Special guests included Dr. Suparna Sen Ray, Chief Medical Superintendent of the Divisional Railway Hospital, along with Dr. Shashi Jain and senior litterateur Jitendra Nirmohi. A paper presentation was delivered by Dr. Yugal Singh.
The event was conducted by Dr. Ramavatar Sagar, Professor in the Hindi Department at a Government College, who remarked that the platform for poetry has shifted from mothers’ lullabies and home courtyards to mobile screens. However, he appreciated that Salim Swatantra’s poems are written in simple, conversational language, making them easily understandable and relatable for children. He added that whenever the history of children’s literature is written, Salim Swatantra will certainly have a place in it.
