ADJ Provides Information on Cyber Crime and Cyber Abuse at Awareness Camp

Sri Ganganagar: Under the “Transformative Tuesday” initiative directed by the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, an awareness camp on cyber security was आयोजित at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sri Ganganagar. The program was conducted as part of the “Empowering Youth of Rajasthan – Legal Literacy Initiative 2026” by Ravi Prakash Suthar, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and Additional District & Sessions Judge (ADJ).

Addressing the students, ADJ Ravi Prakash Suthar explained the concept of cyber abuse, stating that harassing, insulting, threatening, or mentally harming someone through mobile phones, the internet, social media, or any online platform falls under cyber misconduct. He highlighted that in many cases, individuals create fake accounts using a child’s name and photo, posting inappropriate content that can damage the child’s reputation and break trust.

He also warned about the dangers of online gaming. While such games are popular among children, some include abusive language and interaction with strangers. Many games feature voice chat, where cybercriminals can communicate with children and extract personal information such as home addresses or phone numbers. Some offenders build friendships through games and later attempt to exploit children.

ADJ Suthar advised students on how to respond to cyber abuse situations. He emphasized that children should act wisely and without fear, avoid engaging in arguments, and immediately take screenshots as evidence. They should promptly inform parents, teachers, or any trusted adult instead of hiding the issue out of embarrassment. He also advised blocking offenders and reporting such accounts on the platform. In serious cases, complaints should be lodged with cyber police or relevant authorities. Students were also informed about the cybercrime helpline number 1930.

The camp was attended by Chief LADC Rohitash Yadav and DAV Senior Secondary School Principal Dharampal Sharma, among others. The program was conducted by Legal Aid Defense Counsel Aman Chalana.
