Cinema of the Year (CTA) – Indian Cinema Awards (ICA) 2025: Nominations for Outstanding Hindi Films and Artists Announced
Jaipur: The official nominations for Cinema of the Year (CTA) – Indian Cinema Awards (ICA) 2025, presented by the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) and the New Delhi Film Festival (NDFF), have been announced. These nominations have been selected from Hindi films released in 2025. This prestigious initiative aims to recognize and honor excellence at the highest standards of Indian cinema.
The next phase of the awards will focus separately on South Indian cinema.
Every year, JIFF and NDFF have initiated these awards for Hindi films released in that year. The jury for this selection consists of three film industry professionals, one AI system, and a representative from the organizing committee.
This year, the Best Film category includes remarkable films such as Mahavatar Narsimha, Dhurandhar, Haq, Humans in the Loop, Jugnuma – The Fable, The Mehta Boys, and Metro… In Dino. In addition, prominent artists and creators have been recognized across categories including direction, acting, writing, music, cinematography, editing, and other technical fields.
Founder Director Hanu Roj stated that the nomination list reflects the diversity of Indian cinema, its contemporary themes, and creative experimentation. Through these awards, a platform is being provided to those films and artists who have made a significant impact on audiences and critics throughout the year with their work.

Spokesperson Nitin Sharma emphasized that this initiative is completely democratic, transparent, and based on high standards. Any form of influence is strictly prohibited. The principle is simple: work speaks for itself, and awards are determined accordingly.
No physical or cultural event will be organized for these awards.

Best Film: The films nominated for Best Film are Dhurandhar, Haq, Humans in the Loop, Jugnuma – The Fable, The Mehta Boys, and Metro… In Dino.
Best Director: Nominees include Aditya Dhar (Dhurandhar), Boman Irani (The Mehta Boys), Suparn Varma (Haq), Aranya Sahay (Humans in the Loop), and Subhash Kapoor (Jolly LLB 3).
Best Actor: The actors nominated are Manoj Bajpayee (Jugnuma), Akshay Khanna (Dhurandhar/Chhaava), Vicky Kaushal (Chhaava), Vijay Varma (Gustaakh Ishq), and Boman Irani (The Mehta Boys).
Best Actress: Nominees include Yami Gautam (Haq), Simrat Kaur (The Bengal Files), Aneet Padda (Saiyaara), Bhasha Sumbli (Baramulla), and Priyanka Bose (Agra).
Best Supporting Actor: Boman Irani (The Mehta Boys), Dibyendu Bhattacharya (The Bengal Files), Rakesh Bedi (Dhurandhar), Akshaye Khanna (Dhurandhar), and Vineet Kumar Singh (Chhaava) are nominated.
Best Supporting Actress: Seema Biswas (Jolly LLB 3), Pallavi Joshi (The Bengal Files), Shreya Dhanwanthary (The Great Shamsuddin Family), Shanti Priya (Bad Girl) and Mia Maelzer (Stolen) have been nominated.
Best Writing: The nominations include Dhurandhar (Aditya Dhar), Homebound (Shreedhar Dubey, Neeraj Ghaywan, Varun Grover), Haq (Reshu Nath), Jolly LLB 3 (Subhash Kapoor, Nandan Singh), and Kesari Chapter 2 (Amritpal Singh Bindra, Akshat Ghildial, Sumit Saxena).
Best Music: Nominees are Saiyaara (Mithoon, Sachet–Parampara, Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, Rishabh Kant, Faheem Abdullah & Arslan Nizami), Metro… In Dino (Pritam Chakraborty), Dhurandhar (Shashwat Sachdev), and Param Sundari (Sachin–Jigar).
Best Background Score: Saiyaara (John Stewart Eduri), Dhurandhar (Shashwat Sachdev), and War 2 (Sanchit Balhara & Ankit Balhara) are nominated.
Best Cinematography: Nominees include Dhurandhar (Vikash Nowlakha), Superboys of Malegaon (Swapnil S. Sonawane), Jugnuma (Sunil Borkar), and Param Sundari (Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran).
Best Editing: Dhurandhar (Shivkumar V. Panicker), Crazxy (Sanyukta Kaza & Rythem Lath), Homebound (Nitin Baid), and Stolen (Shreyas Beltangdy) are nominated.
Best Visual Effects: Nominees include Chhaava (Gary Brown & Simon Frame), 120 Bahadur (Rojo Studio), War 2 (YFX Studios), and Dhurandhar (Indian Visual Effects & Animation Studio).
Best Costume Design: Chhaava and Saiyaara (Sheetal Sharma), Dhurandhar (Smriti Chauhan), and Songs of Paradise (Sheetal Iqbal Sharma) are nominated.
Best Action: Nominees are Dhurandhar (Aejaz Gulab), Chhaava (Parvez Shaikh & Todor Lazarov), War 2 (Anal Arasu, Craig Macrae, Se-yeong Oh, Sunil Rodrigues, Franz Spilhaus, Singh Surinder), and Baaghi 4 (Allan Amin, Steven Ho, Craig Macrae, Venkat).
Best Original Song: Nominations include Saiyaara (Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, Arslan Nizami), Gustaakh Ishq (Vishal Bhardwaj), Metro… In Dino (Pritam Chakraborty), and Tere Ishq Mein (A.R. Rahman).
Best OTT Film: The Mehta Boys, Songs of Paradise, Stolen, and Baramulla are nominated.
