Highlights of GJS April 2026
· Event Kick-off with Manthan: The show began with Manthan, a high-impact research seminar presented by the World Gold Council (WGC), powered by GIA and supported by MCX as Commodity Exchange Partner. Organized by GJC in collaboration with the India Gold Policy Centre (IGPC) at IIM Ahmedabad, Manthan brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to deliberate on Vision 2047, ease of business, and competition challenges. A special highlight was the Exclusive Session for Elite Family Jewellers, featuring renowned international motivational speaker Dr. Vivek Bindra, CEO & Founder of Bada Business and leading business coach, who inspired participants with strategies for growth and resilience.
· Festive Sentiment & Akshay Tritiya Boost: Strategically timed ahead of Akshay Tritiya and the peak wedding season, the show saw strong demand driven by auspicious muhurat buying. Consumers reaffirmed their cultural belief in gold as a safe haven, purchasing even small quantities as a symbol of prosperity and savings.
· Industry Participation: Family jewellers, emerging entrepreneurs, and established brands engaged with equal enthusiasm, showcasing inclusivity and empowerment across the sector.

Leadership Voices
Chief Guest Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule Ji, Hon’ble Minister of Revenue, Maharashtra:
"GJS has welcomed exhibitors from across the country, and the Show and the Council epitomize Protect, Promotion, Progress and showcase the art and craft of jewellers both big and small. It also serves as a great platform to highlight new technology introduced in this sector. Last year, India’s gem and jewellery business clocked ₹12 lakh crores, and I am confident with the Council’s constant endeavour, it will cross ₹15 lakh crores this year.
The gem and jewellery sector is a true Mahakumbh, offering employment to lakhs of semi-skilled and skilled designers, serving as India’s ambassador of beauty worldwide, and strongly supplementing our Prime Minister’s vision of going from local to global. As a government, we stand behind every sector to provide the help needed. I am sure with this GJS show and their other pursuits, India will once again become the land of Sone ki Chidiya."
Mr. Rajesh Rokde, Chairman, GJC:
"This edition of GJS has been a resounding success, with sales momentum supported by the recent correction in gold prices, Akshay Tritiya sentiment, and auspicious muhurat buying. We witnessed strong demand for lightweight jewellery for weddings and personal use, alongside coins and bars for savings. The emotional and cultural values attached to gold in India remain unmatched—it is not just jewellery, but security and tradition.
I sincerely thank our Chief Guest, Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule Ji, for gracing the inauguration and for his inspiring words. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to Smt. Chitra Wagh, Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC), for addressing the Maharashtra State Vigilance Committee Workshop and assuring government support for skill development courses and vigilance initiatives. Her commitment to strengthening the jewellery industry further empowers our mission to protect, promote, and progress the interests of over 6 lakh jewellers across India. I also acknowledge the presence of Lok Sabha Sansad Shri Rajesh Verma at the GJC Nite, which added great value to the evening."
Mr. Avinash Gupta, Vice Chairman, GJC:
"The vibrant participation of exhibitors and visitors reflects the strength and unity of our fraternity. GJS is more than an exhibition—it is a celebration of India’s artistry and entrepreneurship. The addition of the GJC Nite – Networking Evening further enriched the event, offering a glamorous platform for collaboration and relationship-building. What stood out this year was the diversity of participants—from established houses to first‑generation jewellers—showcasing inclusivity and equal opportunity. The event also highlighted design innovation and modern technology alongside traditional craftsmanship, positioning GJS as not just a marketplace but a cultural and knowledge hub. We thank all stakeholders for making GJS April 2026 a landmark event."
Mr. Saiyam Mehra, Convenor of GJS & Immediate Past Chairman, GJC:
The inclusivity of GJS was evident as family jewellers and new entrepreneurs engaged with equal zeal, and the four days of the show witnessed exceptionally good business across all segments. Exhibitors reported strong trading activity in lightweight ornaments, bridal jewellery, and investment products such as coins and bars, with many achieving record orders compared to previous editions. The festive sentiment around Akshay Tritiya and auspicious muhurat buying further boosted demand, ensuring that GJS April 2026 delivered one of the most successful trading seasons in recent years. Beyond the transactions, the show fostered collaboration and trust, reinforcing its role as a national marketplace where jewellers from across India not only conducted business but also gained valuable insights through knowledge sessions and workshops."
With the successful conclusion of GJS April 2026, GJC reaffirms its commitment to empowering jewellers through continuous initiatives such as Labham, training programs, and future editions of GJS. The Council remains dedicated to strengthening India’s position as the “Jeweller to the World”, while preserving the cultural essence of gold as Akshay Kala – The Eternal Art.
