Demonstrating sportsmanship, discipline, and exceptional skill, the Under-14 cricket team of St. Anthony’s Senior Secondary School won the prestigious St. Paul’s Under-14 Cricket Premier League, organized by St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School, bringing pride to their institution.
According to media in-charge Vikas Sahu, the tournament concluded with an exciting and competitive final, where both teams showcased impressive cricketing skills. In the final, St. Anthony’s defeated St. Paul’s by 6 wickets. Batting first, St. Paul’s posted 59 runs in their allotted 12 overs. Despite a determined effort by St. Paul’s batsmen, disciplined bowling and precise line-and-length deliveries from St. Anthony’s bowlers restricted the opposition from building a big total.
Chasing the target, St. Anthony’s batted with patience and strategy, achieving the target while losing just 4 wickets. The batsmen maintained composure under pressure, ultimately leading the team to victory. Under the guidance of coach Tariq Khan, the players delivered a consistent and disciplined performance throughout the tournament. Coach Khan credited the team’s success to the players’ hard work, teamwork, and dedication, expressing confidence in their future achievements.
