Statewide Press Conferences Amplify Women Empowerment Voice

Nari Shakti Vandan Act Marks New Era

Udaipur.Press conferences on the Nari Shakti Vandan Act were organized simultaneously across Rajasthan, reflecting a unified push toward women’s empowerment. Prior to the event, a meeting of the Mahila Morcha was held on the same subject, witnessing strong participation from women.

District President Gajpal Singh Rathore welcomed the gathering and stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Act was passed as a historic step to strengthen women’s rights. It was highlighted that women’s representation in Parliament, which stood at just 4% after Independence, rose to 15% by 2019, and with this Act, 33% reservation has now been ensured from Panchayats to Parliament.

Key speaker State Vice President Dr. Alka Mundda described the Act as the beginning of a new era. She emphasized that it will not only enhance representation but also make policymaking more sensitive, inclusive, and effective. With women actively participating in governance, priority areas such as education, healthcare, nutrition, safety, water, and sanitation are expected to gain greater focus.

She further noted that in the past decade, several initiatives have advanced women’s empowerment, including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, which have positively influenced social attitudes and financial security for girls. In health and nutrition, schemes like Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and the Poshan Abhiyan have contributed to improved maternal health outcomes.

The Act, she said, is not merely a constitutional provision but a decisive step toward achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047, ensuring inclusive and balanced growth through women’s leadership.

The press conference was conducted by Dr. Seema Champawat, whose role as Media In-charge was instrumental in smoothly coordinating the proceedings and ensuring effective communication of the initiative. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mahila Morcha President Kavita Joshi.

The event was attended by Dr. Alka Mundda, Gajpal Singh Rathore, Lalit Singh Sisodia, Rajni Dangi, Hansa Mali, Pratibha Nagda, Dr. Seema Champawat, Sonika Jain, Kavita Joshi, and other members of the organization.

Upcoming activities under the Act include women empowerment conferences, two-wheeler rallies, street plays, publication of articles in newspapers and magazines, and a public support campaign through a missed call initiative. Social media outreach will also be carried out using the hashtag #NariShaktiVandan.
