Udaipur: Prakriti Research Society Udaipur (PRSU) organized a high-level brainstorming and dialogue session on Sunday at its headquarters. The meeting was chaired by Founder President Prof. P. R. Vyas. The primary objective of the seminar was to build a bridge between scientific research and grassroots-level environmental action.
Prof. Vyas stated that key topics discussed during the meeting included research pathways, government collaboration, regional action plans, public awareness, and research projects. In his keynote address, Prof. Sudesh Nangia emphasized the need for collaborative research models. He highlighted the importance of integrating local communities with government bodies to address issues such as waste management, water pollution, and carbon emissions.
A special discussion was held on the conservation of “urban villages” and fragile mountainous ecosystems. More than 35 regional and state coordinators participated in the meeting, with each representative presenting challenges from their respective regions. On this occasion, the society also invited research proposals from young geographers.
Prof. Mohan Nimole announced that the Second International Nature Conference will be held on October 23–24, 2026, at Vikram University.
Participants from the North and West regions included Prof. B. P. Naithani, Prof. Anuradha Sharma, Prof. M. L. Meena, Dr. Kirpa Ram, Dr. Anil Kumar, Prof. Krishna Mohan, and Prof. Gaurav Kalat.
From the western region, attendees included Dr. Anushree, Prof. R. N. Mishra, Prof. M. M. Sheikh, Prof. Laxman Parmar, and Prof. Rakesh Dashora.
From the central and eastern regions, Prof. A. P. Mishra, Prof. A. R. Siddiqui, Prof. S. Sengupta, Prof. Mohan Nimole, and Dr. Pramila Bagel participated.
From the southern and western regions, Prof. Venkatesh Suresh, Prof. Dayanand Ujlambe, along with University of Mumbai professors Prof. S. V. Chavan and Prof. Gavit, were also present.
The meeting concluded with a budget presentation by Secretary H. L. Vyas and a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Rakesh Dashora.
