Tribute Paid to Former Governor Sundar Singh Bhandari on His 105th Birth Anniversary by BJP

Udaipur: Sundar Singh Bhandari was remembered and paid heartfelt tribute on his 105th birth anniversary by Bharatiya Janata Party at a ceremony held at Swarn Jayanti Park, Govardhan Sagar Pal, Udaipur.

Bhandari, described by speakers as a beacon of nationalist ideology, a visionary leader, and a symbol of simplicity and discipline, was recalled as a key ideologue of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and a founding member of India’s nationalist political movement. Leaders paid floral tributes at his life-size statue and honored his contribution to nation-building and organizational strength.

The ceremony began with the organizational song and Vande Mataram. Presiding over the event, BJP City District President Gajpal Singh Rathore highlighted Bhandari’s life and contributions.

Former Mayor Chandar Singh Kothari spoke about his discipline and organizational expansion skills, while former Mayor Rajni Dangi highlighted his role in worker development and organizational growth. Former District President Dinesh Bhatt described Bhandari’s journey from an organizational worker to Governor.

Former MLA Dharm Narayan Joshi stated that BJP workers are known for respecting organizational decisions above all, and Bhandari set a moral example in politics through his principles and saint-like approach. MLA Phool Singh Meena said Bhandari’s life symbolized simplicity, dedication, and service to the nation.

Pramod Samar described Bhandari as a source of inspiration for nationalist ideology and a visionary organizer. He also suggested initiatives such as issuing a postage stamp and coin in Bhandari’s memory, naming a university after him, and publishing a booklet on his life and achievements, urging that these proposals be taken up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Event coordinator Paras Singhvi shared memories of Bhandari’s connection with Mewar, while Mandal President Amrit Menaria welcomed 11 senior citizens who joined the BJP. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mahamantri Pankaj Borana and Devilal Salvi.

As part of the tribute, participants also launched a plantation drive to keep Bhandari’s memory alive.

According to media in-charge Dr. Seema Champawat, several party leaders and workers including Dilip Singh Rathore, Karan Singh Shaktawat, Siddharth Sharma, Ranjit Digpal, Pratap Singh Rathore, Mukesh Joshi, Vijay Ahuja, Ruchika Jain, Hansa Mali, Jagdish Sharma, Manohar Chaudhary, and many others paid floral tribute and honored Bhandari’s legacy.
