Architect of Modern India Remembered in Udaipur

On April 13, 2026, under the aegis of the ‘Janmat Manch’ (Public Opinion Forum), a श्रद्धांजलि ceremony was held at Court Chauraha, Udaipur, to mark the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, widely regarded as the Architect of Modern India and a Bharat Ratna awardee.

Speaking on the occasion, Forum President Dr. Shrinivas Mahawar highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s extraordinary contributions, describing him as the pride and glory of the nation, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, a visionary economist, and the country’s first Law Minister.

Born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Ambedkar rose above deep-rooted social discrimination to become one of India’s most influential thinkers. Despite facing caste-based hardships in his early life, his unwavering determination led him to pursue higher education at institutions like Columbia University, London School of Economics, and Gray's Inn.

Dr. Mahawar also emphasized a historic milestone—on February 5, 1951, Dr. Ambedkar introduced the Hindu Code Bill in Parliament, a landmark reform aimed at ensuring dignity and equal rights for women in Indian society.

Sharing his views, Shirish Nath Mathur, Secretary of the Forum, stressed the importance of accessible education, stating that it is the foundation for empowering individuals and strengthening the nation. Other speakers, including Dr. Priyadarshi Ojha, Vishal Mathur, and Vinod Kumar Chaudhary, reflected on Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring message: “Educate, Organize, and Agitate.”

Dr. Ambedkar’s life was a relentless pursuit of equality, justice, and human dignity. Through initiatives like the Bahishkrit Hitakarini Sabha and movements such as the Mahad Satyagraha, he championed the rights of the marginalized and laid the foundation for a more inclusive India.

The ceremony concluded with a collective tribute, remembering a leader whose ideals continue to inspire generations and whose legacy remains deeply embedded in the soul of the nation.
