Viyansh and Paushita Dominate, Qualify for State Level

Udaipur: The “Udaipur District Under-9 Chess Championship 2026 (Open and Girls Category)” was successfully held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Mikado Kids and Mikado International School, Shobhagpura. The event was jointly organized by Ribka Chess Club and the Udaipur District Chess Association (UDCA).

According to Organizing Secretary Richin Jain, young players from various schools across the district participated enthusiastically and displayed excellent gameplay. The tournament was conducted smoothly under the supervision of Chief Arbiter Vikas Chandel, with the esteemed presence of UDCA President Sonal Garg.

Open (Boys) Category

Viyansh Bhatnagar (Witty International School) secured first place with a perfect score of 5 points, winning all his matches.
Gatik Vyas (The Vision Academy, Udaipur) and Ramneek Singh Saluja (St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School) scored 4 points each, finishing second and third respectively.
Viraj Darak (Pine World School) secured fourth place with 3.5 points.

Shreyan Gupta and Atharva Chhajed (Seedling Modern Public School), along with Aayansh Dalal (Rockwoods International School), scored 3 points each, finishing in fifth, sixth, and seventh positions respectively.
Dhanvin Sharma secured eighth place, while Rudra Joshi (365 Healthcare Services) and Tejas Mishra finished ninth and tenth respectively.

Girls Category

Paushita Paliwal (MDS Senior Secondary School) secured first place with 4 points.
Mananya Chaudhary (St. Anthony Senior Secondary School) finished second with 3 points, while Lithisha Sharma also scored 3 points to secure third place.

Prisha Kataria (Curious Kids Campus) and Trisha Sharma (Delhi Public School) also scored 3 points each with strong performances.
Devanshi Baheti (Crossroads International School), Vihana Gokhru (St. Anthony School), Jayanti Kothari, Davisha Ranawat, Vriddhi Valecha, and Kimayra Chhabra each scored 2 points.
Adhira Chaudhary (Crossroads International School), Anayra Daglia, and Reet Kataria scored 1 point each, while Ayra Choksi (Crossroads International School) also participated in the tournament.

State-Level Qualification

Based on the results, Viyansh Bhatnagar and Gatik Vyas from the Open category, and Paushita Paliwal along with Mananya Chaudhary from the Girls category have qualified for the Rajasthan State Under-9 Chess Championship, where they will represent Udaipur district.

At the conclusion of the tournament, winners were honored with trophies and certificates. The organizing committee expressed gratitude to all participants, parents, and supporters, and encouraged continued participation in future events.
