Udaipur: Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an interactive session at the UCCI auditorium on the topic “New Tourism Opportunities in Southern Rajasthan through Better Air Connectivity from Udaipur Airport.” The chief guest for the event was Sanwarmal Singharia, Director of Maharana Pratap Airport. Representatives from major airline companies such as Air India and IndiGo were also present.
At the beginning of the program, UCCI President Manish Galundia welcomed the chief guest and stated that Udaipur is rapidly emerging as a major tourist destination in India. He emphasized that improved air connectivity plays a vital role not only in tourism but also in the growth of related industries. He added that the experience and guidance of Mr. Singharia would greatly benefit UCCI members, especially those associated with the tourism sector.
Chairman of UCCI’s Tourism Sub-Committee, Siddharth Chatur, presented suggestions regarding infrastructure facilities at Udaipur Airport and improved connectivity to various cities.
In his address, Mr. Singharia shared detailed information about ongoing infrastructure development at the airport and new facilities being introduced for passenger convenience. He also discussed future plans for enhancing airport services. Airport Manager Bharat Gupta elaborated on cargo operations, tourism-related services, passenger amenities, parking, executive lounges, and upcoming facilities at the airport.
During the open discussion and Q&A session, UCCI members raised queries and suggestions, which were addressed by Mr. Singharia and airline representatives, including Amit Ramani and Sultan Ahmed.
The program was conducted by Honorary General Secretary Ashish Chhabra. On this occasion, Honorary Treasurer Hasina Chakkivala, former presidents Komal Kothari and Pawan Talesara, along with Zaki Chakkivala, Mustafa Moti, and Sudhir Bakshi, also shared their views.
More than 25 UCCI members attended the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Tourism Sub-Committee Chairman Siddharth Chatur.
