Udaipur: A one-day de-addiction awareness camp was successfully organized in Gram Panchayat Amarpura under the aegis of the Aarogya District De-Addiction Centre, operated by Aarogya Seva Sansthan. The objective of the program was to raise awareness among rural residents about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to motivate them towards a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle.

At the beginning of the program, Project Coordinator Jogendra Singh shared information about the institution’s various services and projects. He informed that free treatment and counseling facilities are available for individuals willing to quit addiction. He emphasized that with proper guidance and medical support, a person can return to a normal life.

Institution staff member Vijaypal Singh Sisodia described addiction as a social curse and highlighted its adverse consequences. He explained that addiction weakens a person’s financial condition, harms social reputation, and creates stress in family relationships.

From the Health Department, nursing staff member Geeta Meena provided technical insights into the harmful effects of tobacco, alcohol, and other intoxicants. She noted that these substances severely impact the liver, lungs, and mental health, and can often prove fatal.

During the session, ORW Sagar Balochi shared his experiences, stating that with strong willpower and proper support, it is possible to overcome any form of addiction. His inspiring examples encouraged and energized the participants.

At the conclusion of the program, all villagers and youth took a collective pledge to remain addiction-free for life.
