Dr. J.L. Chaudhary Appointed to National Research Advisory Committee
Udaipur: Dr. J.L. Chaudhary, Emeritus Professor in Livestock Production Management (LPM) at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, has been nominated as a member of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of ICAR–Mahatma Gandhi Integrated Farming Research Institute, Piprakothi, Motihari, Bihar. The appointment has been made by the Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education.
This nomination will be effective for a three-year term from April 20, 2026, to April 19, 2029. Dr. Chaudhary is widely recognized for his significant contributions to livestock production management, agricultural research, and education. His extensive experience and expertise have played a key role in advancing research in agriculture and animal husbandry.
A distinguished academician, researcher, and administrator in the field of veterinary and animal sciences, Dr. Chaudhary has held several important positions, including Head of Department, Liaison Officer, ICAR Emeritus Professor, Officer In-Charge, and Acting Dean at the College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Navania (Vallabhnagar). He also served as Director of the Directorate of Planning and Monitoring at MPUAT, Udaipur.
In addition, he has contributed to academic governance as a PRT member at SR University, Telangana, a member of the Board of Management at Agriculture University, Kota, and a member of the Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Jobner.
Dr. Chaudhary has guided 6 M.Sc. and 8 Ph.D. scholars. His academic output includes over 100 research papers, 12 books, 8 practical manuals, 8 technical bulletins, and 66 popular articles. He also holds 6 published patents. Internationally, he has presented his research in countries such as Kenya, Thailand, Oman, China, France, and the UAE.
His role in the Research Advisory Committee is expected to strengthen the institute’s research activities, help define new research priorities, and provide strategic direction to scientific work.
