Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari Visits Udaipur

Udaipur: Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari was on a one-day visit to the Lake City on Tuesday. During her visit, she chaired a review meeting of divisional-level officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Tourism Department, and Women & Child Development Department at the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) meeting hall in the Madri Industrial Area.

The Deputy CM conducted a detailed review of the progress of various schemes and budget announcements.

Expresses Concern Over Slow Progress in Road Projects

During the review of the Public Works Department, Diya Kumari expressed displeasure over the slow progress of several projects in the Udaipur division. She directed officials to prioritize and expedite the construction of critically important roads. Discussions were held on the progress of schemes such as Atal Pragati Path, missing links, and non-patchable roads. Ongoing works in various PWD circles and national highway sections were also reviewed.

MLAs and public representatives present at the meeting highlighted the condition, progress, and damage of key roads in their respective constituencies.

Review of Anganwadi and Nutrition Schemes

Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), discussions were held on budget announcements, the nutrition tracker, FRS, renovation of anganwadi centers, and the establishment of new centers. The Deputy CM instructed officials to accelerate the development of model anganwadi centers and the distribution of nutrition kits to ensure better nutritional support for children and women.

Special Focus on Tourism Development

During the tourism review, progress on the development of major tourist sites, including the Maharana Pratap Tourism Circuit, was assessed. The Deputy CM emphasized that conservation experts must be consulted in the development and restoration of any historical or heritage site.

She also reviewed development work at Jawar Mata and directed that QR codes be installed at key locations to provide historical information to tourists.

The Deputy Chief Minister instructed all departments to speed up the implementation of budget announcements and ensure timely completion so that the public can benefit.

The meeting was attended by Rajsamand MP Mahima Kumari Mewar, Nathdwara MLA Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Gogunda MLA Pratap Gameti, ADM City Jitendra Ojha, and divisional-level officials from PWD, ICDS, Women Empowerment, and Tourism departments.
