Udaipur: Chief Engineer Amarjeet Singh Mehrda from the Water Resources Department, Jaipur, inspected the tunnel construction work under the Dewas Project as well as the Bagolia Feeder construction at RD 11,200 meters on Wednesday.
During the inspection, he reviewed the current progress of the projects, construction quality, safety arrangements, and key measures required to expedite the work. He directed officials and representatives of the construction agency to ensure strict adherence to quality standards and complete the work within the stipulated timeline.
The Chief Engineer also examined the technical systems being used in the Dewas tunnel construction, including machinery operations and safety measures. Under this project, two tunnels of 10.5 km and 4.5 km length will be constructed. Once completed, the project will provide an additional 1000 MCFT of drinking water to Udaipur.
He also instructed officials to accelerate the progress of the Bagolia Feeder work and complete land acquisition-related tasks at the earliest. The feeder will be 27.615 km long and will divert 180 MCFT of excess water from Udaisagar Dam during the monsoon season. Upon completion, the project will provide irrigation facilities to about 3,676 hectares of land across more than 17 villages.
During the inspection, Executive Engineers Birbal Dudi and Komal Patidar, Assistant Engineer Sahunuddin, Junior Engineer Shakti Singh, and representatives of the construction agency were also present.
