###Zinc Football Academy Powers Udaipur’s Triumph in Asmita League
Udaipur, The Zinc Football Academy played a defining role in DFA Udaipur’s remarkable victory in the Under-16 Asmita Football League held in Rajsamand, where the team defeated DFA Jhunjhunu 3-1 in the final to clinch the championship title.
Representing DFA Udaipur, the academy contributed 10 players to the 18-member winning squad, while two additional players were from the Zinc Football Community School, underlining the academy’s growing influence in nurturing grassroots football talent in Rajasthan.
The team dominated the tournament with aggressive and disciplined performances throughout the campaign. Midfielder Sakshi emerged as the star of the final, scoring two crucial goals, while Minu added the third to secure a convincing victory. Goalkeeper Pratigya, who impressed spectators with exceptional reflexes and consistency, was adjudged the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper. In a rare feat, she also scored a goal during the competition.
DFA Udaipur opened its campaign with a commanding 5-0 win over DFA Jodhpur. Goals were scored by Pratigya, Minu Kumari Meena, Sakshi, Divya, and Geet Meena. Continuing their dominant run, the side defeated DFA Nagaur 3-0 in the semi-final through goals by Anandi Gawariya, Asha Meena, and Minu. The 3-1 triumph in the final completed an unbeaten and near-perfect tournament for the team.
Established in 2017 at Zawar, the Zinc Football Academy has emerged as one of India’s leading grassroots football development institutions. Accredited with a 3-star rating by the AIFF, the academy has trained over 5,000 young footballers from rural India. In 2025, it launched India’s largest residential football academy for girls, with the inaugural batch comprising 20 fully sponsored players receiving world-class coaching, academic education, and personality development support.
Backed by Hindustan Zinc, the initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to holistic community development and youth empowerment. Through education, sports, healthcare, women empowerment, livelihood generation, and environmental initiatives, Hindustan Zinc continues to impact over 2.6 million people across more than 4,100 villages.
