538,773 Cases Resolved in National Lok Adalat; Awards Worth ₹18 Crore Passed

Udaipur | Under the guidance of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, and the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, a National Lok Adalat was organized on Saturday as per the directions of Shri Gyan Prakash Gupta, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Udaipur.

The National Lok Adalat was formally inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri Gyan Prakash Gupta. Judges from the Udaipur headquarters, advocates, bank and insurance officials, and litigants were present during the inauguration ceremony.

Shri Kuldeep Sharma, ADJ and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Udaipur, informed that a total of 538,773 cases were resolved during the National Lok Adalat held on May 9, 2026. Awards worth approximately ₹18 crore were passed, including 8,753 pending cases before courts, tribunals, and commissions, along with 530,020 pre-litigation cases.

He further explained that once a case is settled in the National Lok Adalat, it is permanently resolved and no appeal can be filed against the decision. Additionally, the court fee deposited by the parties is refunded after settlement. The resolution of disputes through Lok Adalat also helps maintain mutual harmony, goodwill, and brotherhood among the parties involved.

During the event, officials and representatives from several institutions and financial organizations were present, including Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, L&T Finance, Bajaj Finance, Udgam, Finova, Hero, Sundaram Finance, Bank of India, State Bank of India (SBI), BSNL, Indian Bank, Punjab National Bank, Rajasthan Gramin Bank, SBI Cards, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDB Finance, Ambit Finance, Axis Bank, Jana Small Finance Bank, Union Bank, Shriram Finance, ACME Fintrade, IIFL, RBL Bank, and Bandhan Bank.

Shri Kuldeep Sharma also stated that, for the successful organization of the National Lok Adalat, special benches were constituted at courts located at the Udaipur headquarters as well as in various tehsils. Separate benches were also formed for revenue courts.
