Sri Ganganagar: Under the guidance of the National Legal Services Authority, Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority Jaipur, and District Legal Services Authority Chairman Shri Ravindra Kumar, District and Sessions Judge, Sri Ganganagar, the second National Lok Adalat of the year was organized on a large scale across the Sri Ganganagar judicial region on Saturday. The Lok Adalat was also conducted at every taluka headquarters in the district.
At the district headquarters, benches were presided over by Shri Madangopal Arya, Family Court Judge No. 1; Mrs. Sushma Pareek, Special Judge of the SC/ST Court; Shri Ravi Prakash Suthar, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority; Shri Madan Lal Saharan, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate No. 2; and Mrs. Nidhi Tunwal, Special Judicial Magistrate for NI Act Cases No. 2. Members included Naib Tehsildar Shri Indraj Bairupal and advocates Shri Ajay Mehta, Mrs. Manju Bala, Shri Om Yadav, Shri Sanjay Bhatia, and Mrs. Amandeep Kaur.
In the settlement of pre-litigation cases, Chief Shri Rohitash Yadav, Defense Counsels Shri Aman Chalana and Shri Karan Dhawan, along with Shri Bhuvnesh Sharma, Member of the District Permanent Lok Adalat, rendered commendable services.
District Legal Services Authority Secretary Ravi Prakash Suthar (ADJ), Sri Ganganagar, informed that a total of five benches were constituted at the district headquarters and eight benches at taluka headquarters for the disposal of Lok Adalat matters. A total of 17,863 cases were placed before the Lok Adalat, including 6,704 pending court cases and 11,159 pre-litigation cases.
As per the directions of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, a pre-counseling process was adopted for the successful conduct of the Lok Adalat, and settlement discussions were held in matters referred to the Lok Adalat.
The Lok Adalat mainly resolved compoundable criminal cases, NI Act cases, recovery matters, MACT claims, matrimonial disputes, bank and revenue matters, and other civil disputes through mutual settlements. Representatives from various banks, including SBI, Rajasthan Gramin Bank (RGB), and Punjab National Bank (PNB), were also present.
In one notable pre-litigation settlement at the district headquarters, the loan amount of ₹4,55,000 owed by Vedprakash, son of Surjaram, at the State Bank of India’s Dungarsinghpur branch, was settled for ₹1,70,000, providing substantial relief to the party, who expressed appreciation and gratitude.
Similarly, in the case of deceased borrower Dharmendra Kumar, son of Pritam Singh, of Rajasthan Gramin Bank, Dullapur Keri branch, an outstanding loan amount of ₹13,25,000 was settled for ₹5,14,000, benefiting the deceased’s son Abhishek. The family expressed gratitude for the relief provided.
Likewise, the loan of ₹15,10,000 owed by Hetram, son of Manphool Ram, at SBI Hanumangarh Road branch, Sri Ganganagar, was settled for ₹6,50,000. In another case at SBI Mirzewala Road branch, Sri Ganganagar, the loan amount of ₹6,40,000 owed by Jogendra Singh, son of Makhan Singh, was settled for ₹4,45,000.
A total of 10,158 pending court cases were placed before the National Lok Adalat, out of which 4,414 cases were resolved, resulting in awards worth ₹11,60,03,239. Similarly, out of 26,578 pre-litigation cases placed before the Lok Adalat, 15,546 cases were resolved, and awards worth ₹65,73,17,697 were passed.
At the conclusion of the National Lok Adalat, Shri Ravi Prakash Suthar (Additional District and Sessions Judge) expressed gratitude to all departments, financial institutions, advocates, and members of the public for contributing to the successful organization of the event.
