Ensure Quality Implementation of Budget Announcements: District Collector

Sri Ganganagar: A weekly review meeting was held on Monday at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav.

During the meeting, the District Collector reviewed departmental schemes and directed that the implementation of budget announcement works must be ensured with quality standards. He said that concerned departmental officers should regularly monitor these works, while special attention must be given to the quality of construction activities and their completion within the stipulated time frame.

Reviewing various ongoing construction projects, the District Collector stated that, as per the intent of the state government, all such works should be completed at the earliest so that the benefits can reach the general public.

The meeting also reviewed electricity and drinking water supply. The Collector emphasized that citizens in the district should not face any inconvenience. He instructed the Public Health Engineering Department to make necessary arrangements for smooth water supply and to resolve issues in rural areas immediately.

LPG supply and urban sewerage management under RUIDP were also discussed, and necessary instructions were issued to the concerned officials.

Reviewing wheat procurement in the district, the Collector said that procurement agencies, along with mandi committee officials, must regularly monitor lifting operations. Wheat procurement through agencies is continuing smoothly in the district. So far, 2,83,861.17 metric tonnes of wheat have been procured from 27,543 farmers.

He further instructed that procurement centers must ensure basic facilities for farmers, including shade, drinking water, moisture meters, tarpaulins, and cleaning equipment.

The Collector informed that the web portal for self-enumeration is available for the public from May 1 to May 15, 2026. The district administration is running a special awareness campaign to ensure wide publicity and maximum participation in this digital initiative. He appealed to the public to actively participate in this important national exercise and make maximum use of the self-enumeration facility, thereby contributing to the successful conduct of Census 2027.

Regarding the ongoing Gram Rath Campaign in the district, the Collector directed that concerned nodal and departmental officers should visit the gram panchayats where the programs are being organized. Officials from all 13 participating departments, along with other departments, should reach the field and inform villagers about their schemes and ensure they receive the benefits. District-level as well as block-level officers were also instructed to actively participate in the campaign and help rural citizens avail welfare schemes.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Collector (Administration) Subhash Kumar, Zila Parishad CEO Giridhar, Dheeraj Chawla, Dr. Ajay Singla, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Rishabh Jain, Rakesh Kumar, Mangat Setia, Vijay Kumar, Dr. Sukhpal Singh Brar, Arvind Singh, Dr. Arvind Mittal, Harish Mittal, Kavita Sihag, Dr. Satish Sharma, Preeti Garg, Sunny Pratap Tripathi, Deepak Madaan, Nemichand Verma, Deepak Agrawal, Swati Gupta, Surendra Poonia, along with officials from various departments.
