Memorandum Submitted Over Power Cuts and Irregular Electricity Supply

Udaipur: A Congress delegation led by Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary and Spokesperson Pankaj Kumar Sharma submitted a memorandum at the office of the Superintending Engineer, Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL), located at Patel Circle, regarding the increasing power cuts, low voltage issues, and irregular electricity supply in Udaipur city and surrounding rural areas.

Through the memorandum, Sharma stated that during the intense summer season, unannounced power cuts have made life extremely difficult for the general public. Frequent power tripping and prolonged outages in various parts of the city are causing severe inconvenience to residents, traders, students, hospitals, and small industries. In rural areas, farmers are also facing difficulties as inadequate electricity supply is affecting irrigation and agricultural activities.

Sharma alleged that the BJP government in the state has completely failed in power management. He said the public continues to suffer while the concerned department has failed to take concrete steps towards a permanent solution. Representing the voice of the people, the Congress party placed several key public-interest demands before the electricity department.

The major demands included:

  • Ensuring regular and uninterrupted electricity supply in Udaipur.
  • Immediate halt to unannounced power cuts.
  • Permanent resolution of low voltage and power tripping issues.
  • Public notification in advance regarding scheduled power cuts.
  • Early replacement and upgradation of damaged electricity lines and transformers.

Sharma warned that if the issues are not resolved soon, the Congress party, along with the public, would be compelled to launch an agitation in the interest of the people.

On the occasion, Ashok Tamboli, Firoz Ahmed Sheikh, Monish Purohit, Shivraj Singh, Ishwar Dhakad, Moolaram, Vijesh, Ashok Patel, Vikram Rajpurohit, and several prominent citizens were present.
