Not a Single Building Should Be Left Unmarked; Verify 100% of Self-Enumeration IDs: Mr. Mallik

Udaipur: Under the first phase of Census 2027 in India, the field survey work for House Listing and House Census will begin from Saturday through enumerators. Census Director Bishnucharan Mallik chaired a review meeting on Friday at the Collectorate Auditorium. The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani and Principal Census Officer & Collector Gaurav Agrawal. Mr. Mallik reviewed the self-enumeration process conducted from May 1 to May 15 and issued necessary instructions regarding preparations for the field survey commencing on May 16.

At the beginning of the meeting, District Census Officer Deependra Singh Rathore presented a PowerPoint briefing on the activities and achievements related to the census in the district so far. It was informed that nearly 25,000 people in Udaipur district completed online self-enumeration through the portal. For the field survey, a total of 22 charge areas have been identified across urban and rural regions of the district, with 3,685 enumerator blocks designated. Training sessions have already been conducted up to the enumerator level.

Director Mr. Mallik gave clear instructions that no building should be left out during the census marking process. He emphasized that whether a structure is residential, a commercial establishment, hospital, school, or used for any other purpose, 100% survey coverage must be ensured. He stated that sufficient time has been allocated for the field survey from May 16 to June 14, and therefore officials should avoid rushing and instead record information carefully and accurately. He also directed that every ID received through self-enumeration must be mandatorily verified.

Special Precautions Advised Due to Extreme Heat
During the meeting, Mr. Mallik also stressed the safety of enumerators and survey personnel in view of the prevailing intense heat. He advised that unless absolutely necessary, field surveys should not be conducted between 2 PM and 4 PM, when sunlight and temperatures are at their peak. If field visits during these hours are unavoidable, all necessary precautions should be taken to protect against heat and sun exposure.

The meeting was also attended by Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Khanna, Girwa SDM Avula Sai Krishna, Deputy District Census Officer Puneet Sharma, and other concerned officials.

Recognition for 100% Achievement
During the meeting, appreciation was expressed for census blocks that achieved notable success during the self-enumeration process. Enumerator Priya Sheoran from Badgaon Tehsil was honored with a certificate of appreciation by Director Mr. Mallik, Divisional Commissioner Ms. Kevalramani, and District Collector Mr. Agrawal for achieving 100% completion.
