Udaipur: Young karate players from the Lake City of Udaipur brought laurels to the city and the nation with an outstanding performance at the Okinawa International Karate Championship held in Malaysia. The prestigious tournament took place at the Indira Mulia Stadium in Ipoh, Perak, and witnessed participation from nearly 1,400 players representing 18 countries.
Shandai Ravi Khatri, Dojo Incharge of Leo Martial Arts Academy, informed that the players from Udaipur won a total of six medals in the international event, showcasing exceptional talent and determination.
In the Sub-Junior Boys category, Atharv Sharma delivered an impressive performance in both Kata and Kumite events, defeating a player from Tajikistan and securing two silver medals.
In the Junior Girls category, Yashovardhana Vyas won a silver medal in Kumite and a bronze medal in Kata, making the country proud with her remarkable achievement.
Meanwhile, in the Junior Boys category, Khushvijit Singh Rathore displayed excellent skills in both Kata and Kumite events and clinched two silver medals.
The players achieved this success under the guidance of Rajasthan team coach and manager Kyoshi Dr. Mukesh Kumar. Their achievement has created a wave of खुशी and pride among sports enthusiasts and residents of Udaipur.
