###Dr. S.K.Verma honoured with Lifetime Achievement
Award in Indigenous Medicine
Udaipur. Dr.S.K.Verma, a distinguished name in the field of medical science and Indigenous Medicine Research, has been conferred with the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award – Indigenous Medicine” by the TIME2LEAP National Award (5th Edition 2026). The award was conferred during the MSME Start-Up Innovation Summit held on 23rd April 2026 at ITC Maurya, New Delhi. The award was presented by Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, Hon`ble Union Minister MSME, Government of India and Smt. Shobha Karandlaje, Hon`ble Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Government of India.
Dr. Verma currently serves as President of the Society for Microvita Research and Integrated Medicine (SMRIM), Udaipur and holds the distinguished title of Professor Emeritus, Department of Medicine, at Pacific Medical College and Hospital, Udaipur.
The award comprises a trophy that recognizes Dr. Verma`s lifelong dedication and extraordinary contribution to medical research. His academic footprint includes more than 150 research publications in reputed national and International journals, with over 3659 citations and an impressive h-index of 27, reflecting the widespread impact and relevance of his work in the global scientific community.
With a research career of more than 45 years, Dr. Verma primarily focused on the role of spices and indigenous medicinal plants in the risk stratification and prevention of cardiovascular diseases in man as well as in experimental animal models. It signifies a pioneer area that combines traditional knowledge with modern clinical science.
In recent years, Dr. Verma has expanded his scientific pursuits into the field of Microvitology and Integrated Medicine – a transdisciplinary approach aimed at holistic human wellness. Under his leadership, SMRIM has emerged as a unique international research platform, promoting scientific inquiries into the new field of human physico-psycho-spirituality.
He is also serving as the Editor in Chief of two international peer-reviewed journals, namely, Bulletin on Microvita Research and Integrated Medicine (BOMRIM) and Pacific Journal of Medical and Health Sciences.
Dr. Verma`s work continues to inspire young scientists and clinicians to explore interdisciplinary frontiers in medical science, particularly at the interaction of traditional wisdom and modern research.
The Lifetime Achievement recognition in Indigenous Medicine not only marks a personal milestone in Dr. Verma`s illustrious career but also brings international attention to Udaipur city as an emerging center of excellence in Indigenous Medicine research.
