Respect for Elders Builds a Cultured Society

Udaipur. In view of the changing social environment and the growing need for respect, security and emotional care for senior citizens, Smiles For All Charitable Trust has launched a sensitive and inspiring social initiative dedicated to elderly welfare and social awareness.

With the guiding principle of “Seva Parmo Dharma,” the Trust unveiled the brochure and coffee table book of its ambitious project “Mewar Ra Diggaj” through the hands of Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, a member of the Mewar royal family.

On the occasion, Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar said that the true identity of a civilized society lies in how it respects and cares for its senior citizens. He stated that in today’s fast-paced lifestyle, elderly people require not only facilities, but also affection, communication and dignity. He added that initiatives such as “Smiles Club” and “Smiles Home” would play an important role in reviving human values in society.

He further said that “Mewar Ra Diggaj” is not merely a coffee table book, but a social document that will connect the younger generation with the culture, service, struggles and inspirational personalities of Mewar, while strengthening social responsibility and traditional values.

Trust President Indra Daga informed that the project includes three major initiatives — the “Mewar Ra Diggaj” coffee table book, a dialogue and recreation center for senior citizens named “Smiles Club,” and a safe and caring residential facility called “Smiles Home.”

Project mentor R.C. Mehta said that the campaign is not just about service, but an expression of gratitude towards parents and senior citizens who devoted their entire lives to their families and society.

Project Coordinator Rajendra Daga stated that the book will feature the life journeys of inspirational personalities from Mewar who have contributed significantly towards society and the nation. The contribution received through the publication will be utilized for senior citizen welfare projects.

Among those present during the event were Anshul Mogra, Divyanshu Daga, Rupesh Parik and several distinguished citizens, who appreciated the initiative and described it as a meaningful campaign connected with social responsibility and human values.
