Literary Creation Based on Ancient Values and Traditions is Essential – Dr. Nirmala Sharma

Banswara: Renowned linguist, critic, and senior literary thinker Dr. Nirmala Sharma emphasized the need for literary creation centered on ancient Sanatan traditions, values, and ideals. She urged contemporary writers to come forward and contribute actively in this direction.

Dr. Sharma made this appeal during a literary discussion gathering organized by the Institute of Oriental Research and Studies at Shri Pitambara Ashram, operated by Gayatri Mandal.

She stressed the need for collective and strong efforts to create and present literature related to Sanatan Vedic and Puranic traditions, including narratives, references, Panchatantra stories, religious and spiritual subjects, sages, saints, enlightened ascetics, and inspirational themes. She advocated presenting such content before the younger generation in a simple, accessible, and impactful language style.

Discussing religion, literature, traditions, devotional literature, and the teachings and verses of saint-poets, Dr. Sharma described them as important mediums for attaining divinity and spiritual enlightenment. She said that the saint and devotional literature of the Vagad region is vast, extraordinary, and unique in the world, and deserves extensive research and literary work.

On the occasion, Gayatri Mandal Treasurer Anant Joshi, Advocate Yashpal Gupta, Chandresh Vyas, Harish Acharya, and Bhanwar Garg honored Dr. Nirmala Sharma by presenting her with a traditional stole and shawl.

Renowned experimental poet and lyricist Harish Acharya highlighted Dr. Nirmala Sharma’s personality and literary contributions, especially her remarkable work in the fields of education, literature, and research in the Vagad region.
