Sri Ganganagar: As part of the ongoing “Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar” campaign led by District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav and District Superintendent of Police Shri Harishankar, a drug de-addiction awareness workshop was organized during the Group Annual Camp being held at the District Education and Training Institute (DIET), Chunawadh, under the Rajasthan State Bharat Scouts and Guides, District Headquarters Sri Ganganagar.
During the program, Shri Vikram Jiyani from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department stated that drug abuse has taken a severe form today, not only destroying the future of youth but also weakening the foundations of society. He said that to address this serious challenge, the district administration and police are jointly running the “Drug-Free Campaign” continuously.
He highlighted the harmful effects of addiction and urged participants with the message: “Rise, awaken, and do not stop until it is eradicated, because self-confidence is the real strength against drugs.”
He further added that addiction does not destroy just an individual but devastates entire families, stealing dreams and pushing lives into darkness. During the workshop, all participants unanimously pledged to lead a drug-free life and contribute to making society free from addiction.
Camp coordinator Angrez Singh informed that participants from various districts of Rajasthan are taking part in the camp. Along with scouting activities, they are also becoming aware of important social issues.
On this occasion, CO Scout Indraj Suthar, CO Guide Monica Yadav, Kuldeep Sharma, Shilpi Sharma, Suraj, Rajni, Praveen Kumar, and several other dignitaries were present. At the end of the program, all participants collectively took a pledge to abstain from drugs and make every possible effort to build a drug-free society.
