Sri Ganganagar: A meeting was held on Friday under the chairmanship of District Legal Services Authority Chairman Shri Ravindra Kumar (District and Sessions Judge), Sri Ganganagar, regarding the grant of compensation to victims under the Rajasthan Victim Compensation (Amendment) Scheme 2023. The meeting was attended by officials from the district administration, police administration, and other stakeholders.
District Legal Services Authority Secretary Shri Ravi Prakash Suthar (Additional District and Sessions Judge) informed that a total of 48 applications related to the Rajasthan Victim Compensation (Amendment) Scheme 2023 were discussed during the meeting. Out of these, six applications were approved, and compensation amounting to a total of Rs 16 lakh was sanctioned for the beneficiaries.
The meeting was attended by District Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Amit Yadav, District Superintendent of Police Shri Harishankar, Family Court Judge No. 1 Shri Madan Gopal Arya, DLSA Secretary Shri Ravi Prakash Suthar, Bar Association President Shri Hansraj Taneja, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Ajay Kumar Singla, and Dr. Dharmendra, Public Prosecutor and Deputy Director of Prosecution, District Court, Sri Ganganagar.
Shri Suthar stated that the objective of the Rajasthan Victim Compensation (Amendment) Scheme 2023 is to provide financial assistance by the State Government to victims or their dependents who have suffered loss or injury as a result of a crime, helping them in rehabilitation and recovery.
He added that victims or their dependents can apply for benefits under the scheme through the District Legal Services Authority, Sri Ganganagar.
