Make Water Conservation a Social Movement Through Public Participation, Not Just an Event – District Collector

Udaipur | District Collector Gaurav Agrawal chaired a meeting at the Collectorate auditorium on Saturday regarding preparations for the “Vande Ganga Water Conservation Public Campaign 2026,” being organized for the second consecutive year on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.

While addressing officials, District Collector Mr. Agrawal directed that the campaign should be conducted as a mass movement with maximum public participation. He said that water conservation is not merely a government program but a social campaign connected with community involvement, aimed at creating widespread awareness about water saving and the protection of water resources.

The District Collector discussed in detail the outline of the proposed district-level inaugural program to be held on May 25 and assigned responsibilities to the concerned departments. He informed that the district-level event will take place at Doodh Talai in the presence of the Minister in Charge and the Secretary in Charge. Activities such as water worship rituals, a Kalash Yatra, and various public awareness programs will be organized during the event.

He instructed officials to ensure active participation from public representatives, social organizations, students, voluntary groups, and the general public so that the message of water conservation reaches every household.

During the meeting, the daily activities and programs planned under the campaign were also reviewed. The District Collector directed departmental officers to work in coordination and organize all programs effectively.
