Udaipur | On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary year of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, nearly 8,000 people from the Udaipur division departed for Delhi on Saturday by trains and buses to participate in the grand National Tribal Cultural Gathering being organized on May 24 at the Red Fort Ground. Arrangements for food and drinking water for the travelers were made collectively by members of all communities.
Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat along with several public representatives also left to participate in the event. Dr. Rawat informed that a large number of tribal workers departed for Delhi by trains scheduled at 3:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., while many others left by buses. BJP leaders and workers gathered at the railway station to bid farewell to the participants. Food and water arrangements were also made at the station by members of all communities and distributed among the travelers. Broad support and active participation from all sections of society have been witnessed for this tribal gathering.
It is noteworthy that this historic program is being jointly organized by the Janjati Suraksha Manch and the Janjati Jagruti Samiti. More than two lakh tribal representatives from across the country are expected to participate in the event.
Laluram Katara, State Convenor of Janjati Suraksha Manch Rajasthan, stated that representatives from nearly 567 tribal communities from various states, including remote northeastern regions and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, along with social workers, women, youth, and intellectuals, will participate in the gathering wearing their traditional attire and carrying traditional musical instruments.
The objective of the program is to strengthen awareness and protect the faith, culture, traditions, and Sanatan values of tribal communities. Organizers stated that this will be the first occasion in the country’s history when representatives of such a large number of diverse tribal communities from across India will gather in the national capital in their traditional dress and cultural identity.
The chief guest of the event will be Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who will address the gathering at the Red Fort Ground. On this occasion, National Convenor of Janjati Suraksha Manch Ganeshram Bhagat, National President of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Satyendra Singh, along with several distinguished personalities, will also be present.
