Young chess talents from Udaipur, Ramneek Saluja and Vihana Gokhru, brought pride to the city by securing runner-up positions in the Boys’ and Girls’ categories respectively at the Rajasthan State Under-7 Chess Championship.
The state-level tournament was organized by the Jhalawar District Chess Association on May 25, 2026, in Kota-Jhalawar, where a total of 35 players from across Rajasthan participated. Udaipur’s players delivered exceptional performances and brought laurels to the district.
In the Girls’ category, Vihana Gokhru scored 4 points in 5 rounds to claim the runner-up trophy. In the Boys’ category, Ramneek Saluja secured an impressive 5 points in 6 rounds to emerge as the runner-up.
Both players credited their success to the support of their parents and coaches, Richin Jain and Rohit Lodha.
District Chess Association Secretary Indra Kumar Prajapat informed that Ramneek Saluja and Vihana Gokhru will now represent Rajasthan at the National Under-7 Chess Championship, scheduled to be held in Nagpur from June 30 to July 4, 2026.
The District Chess Association extended heartfelt congratulations to both players and encouraged them to continue achieving greater success in the future.
