Mini Summer Chess Festival Witnesses Enthusiastic Participation
Udaipur: The “Mini Summer Chess Festival Lakecity Open May Rapid Chess Tournament 2026,” organized by Castle Chess Academy at St. Anthony School, Sector-4, concluded successfully with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit. Players from Udaipur, Kolkata, Kankroli, Bikaner, Bhilwara, and nearby regions participated in the tournament and showcased remarkable talent. The chief guests of the event were Mukta Sahu and Bhavesh Pandiyar, who honored the winners with trophies, medals, and cash prizes.
In the Open category, Manthan Chittora secured first place with 6 points and won a cash prize of ₹3100 along with a trophy. Aniruddh Sahu finished second with 5½ points and received ₹2100 and a trophy, while Mitansh Sahu claimed third place with 5 points and won ₹1500 and a trophy. Param Wadhwani and Bhavyansh Mukesh Sharma also delivered impressive performances and received cash prizes of ₹1100 and ₹1000 respectively.
In the Under-13 Boys category, Rudransh Bhardwaj emerged as the winner while Varnit Singh Chauhan secured second position. Pratyush Bhanawat, Shivansh Lalwani, Maurya Kataria, Utkarsh Singh, Dev Mohan Mishra, Aditya Soni, Jenil Sahu, and Dhairyansh Sahu were also honored with trophies. In the Under-13 Girls category, Khushmita Paliwal secured first place, followed by Paridhi Lodha in second and Kinjal Bhavsar in third position.
In the Under-11 Boys category, Divyansh Mathur emerged victorious while Jai Sharma finished as runner-up. Kartik Meghwal, Drona Paliwal, Yuvaan Menaria, Purv Vaya, Naman Vaishnav, Hitarth Gaur, Tanishq Jaiswal, and Kehan Sharma also received trophies. Vihana Kothari secured first place in the Under-11 Girls category.
In the Under-9 Boys category, Ayansh Dalal claimed first position while Dhanvin Sharma secured second place. Tejas Mishra, Ishan Mittal, Yug Dhaddha, Rudraksh Sachdeva, Vivaan Jagdish, Hanish Mantri, and Ayansh Dave were also felicitated with trophies. In the Under-9 Girls category, Paushita Paliwal emerged as the winner, while Mananya Chaudhary and Prisha Kataria secured second and third positions respectively.
In the Under-7 Boys category, Viraj Darak secured first place while Dev Matta finished second. Nauman Ali Khan and Lavik Lodha were also honored with trophies. Samriddhi Mimani won the Under-7 Girls category, while Gauransh Kharbanda secured first place in the Under-5 Boys category.
At the conclusion of the tournament, players securing positions from third to tenth in all categories were awarded trophies, while all participants received medals. Organizers stated that such tournaments play an important role in developing strategic thinking, confidence, and sportsmanship among children.
On this occasion, Chess in Lakecity chief patrons Tushar Mehta and Rajendra Teli, president Rajeev Bhardwaj, Nilesh Kumawat, Manish Chandalia, Disha Sisodiya, Heena Sahu, Kapil Pandiyar, Richin Jain, and chess coaches Vikas Sahu and Bhavesh Pandiyar, along with all members and office bearers, extended their best wishes to the players.
