Udaipur: Floral tributes were paid to the statue of India’s first Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna and architect of modern India, Jawaharlal Nehru, on his death anniversary on Wednesday at the Railway Training School premises. Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary and spokesperson Pankaj Kumar Sharma offered flowers and paid homage on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Sharma said that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru provided independent India with a strong foundation of democracy, scientific thinking, and modern development. Under his leadership, the country witnessed historic progress in education, industry, science, and public institutions, the impact of which continues to strengthen India’s growth even today.
Several prominent citizens, including Uttam Prakash Devda, Shahid Hussain, Sanjay Mandwani, and B.R. Sirohi, were present during the tribute ceremony.
Later, a condolence meeting and seminar were also organized at the Congress Media Center in Rakshabandhan Dhanmandi. On this occasion as well, Pankaj Kumar Sharma paid floral tribute to the portrait of Jawaharlal Nehru.
Addressing the seminar, Sharma stated that Pandit Nehru’s contribution was not limited to the freedom movement alone, but he also played a vital role in shaping modern India. He emphasized that Nehru strengthened democratic values, secularism, and social harmony in the country.
Prominent attendees at the seminar included Kripashankar Mishra, Kamal Soni, Parasmal Nagori, Mahendra Nath Purohit, Sajjad Khan, Naresh Swami, Yatharth Swami, and Sanyam Nagori.
