###Special Enforcement Drive Against Illegal Liquor Intensified

1,936 Cases Registered and 873 Arrested Across Rajasthan

Udaipur,  Under the directions of Namit Mehta, a special enforcement campaign is being carried out across Rajasthan to curb the illegal manufacture, storage, transportation, and sale of liquor. Effective action including checkpoints, patrolling, and raids is continuously being conducted in different districts of the state. Illegal liquor has been seized and large quantities of wash destroyed during the ongoing drive.

According to the Excise Department, from May 1 to May 26, 2026, a total of 1,936 cases were registered under the special enforcement campaign, while 873 persons were arrested during various operations conducted across the state.

During the campaign, authorities seized 6,883 litres of country liquor worth approximately ₹18.56 lakh, 38,886 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about ₹3.89 crore, and 19,675 litres of beer valued at ₹44.23 lakh. In addition, 30 litres of spirit and 12,793 litres of illicit liquor were also confiscated.

The department further informed that 5,19,144 litres of wash used for illegal liquor production were destroyed during the operations. Authorities also seized a total of 84 vehicles, including 7 heavy vehicles, 12 four-wheelers, one three-wheeler, and 64 two-wheelers.

Special enforcement activities, including barricading, raids, and intensive patrolling, are being conducted in all districts of the state. Officials stated that all Additional Excise Commissioners, Deputy Excise Commissioners, District Excise Officers, Excise Inspectors, and Excise Enforcement Teams are taking strict action against illegal liquor under a zero-tolerance policy.
