Sadhana Nagar Awarded PhD Degree for Research on Nutritional Assessment of Rural Children
Udaipur: Mrs. Sadhana Nagar was awarded a PhD degree by the Faculty of Nursing at Pacific Medical University for her research titled “Nutritional Assessment of Children Under Five Years of Age in Selected Rural Areas of Udaipur.” She completed her research under the guidance of Professor (Dr.) K.C. Yadav, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing.
The ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor of Pacific Medical University Dr. U.S. Parihar, Research Dean Dr. R.K. Paliwal, Dr. Maharaj Singh, Dr. Ashish Goyal, Dr. Rohitash, Dr. Sanjay Nagda, Dr. Sunil Joshi, along with senior medical experts and faculty members.
Mrs. Nagar stated that the first five years of life are the most crucial for physical, mental, and immune system development. She emphasized that malnutrition during this stage can have lifelong effects. She added that today’s healthy child will become tomorrow’s healthy and responsible citizen, and investing in children’s nutrition is an investment in the nation’s future workforce.
The findings of the research will help the government formulate targeted nutrition policies for rural areas, provide parents with accurate information regarding infant feeding and supplementary nutrition, assist nursing staff in growth monitoring and early identification of malnutrition, and offer baseline data for future detailed studies.
Mrs. Nagar is currently serving as a faculty member at the Government College of Nursing, Udaipur. She credited the successful completion of her research to the support of her husband Professor Dr. Satish Nagar, her sons Ayush Nagar and Aryan Nagar, her entire family, research guide Dean Director Professor (Dr.) K.C. Yadav, and all her colleagues.
Experts present at the event stated that malnutrition remains a major challenge in rural India and that this research would prove to be a milestone in strengthening grassroots healthcare services.
