Udaipur : As part of the Vande Ganga Water Conservation Public Campaign 2026, a water conservation awareness program was organized on Saturday in Salukheda village of Brahmanon Ka Kherwara Gram Panchayat, under Jhadol Panchayat Samiti, with Rajasthan's Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Kharadi emphasized the importance of water conservation, stating that "the vision of a sustainable future is incomplete without water. If there is water, there is a future." He noted that nature has blessed Udaipur with numerous gifts, including adequate rainfall. He highlighted that previous generations undertook several initiatives to conserve rainwater and stressed the need to continue and strengthen those efforts.
The minister urged people to actively participate in the campaign being conducted under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and contribute towards water and environmental conservation. He also administered a pledge to the villagers, encouraging them to commit themselves to protecting water resources. During the program, Minister Kharadi and other dignitaries participated in a tree plantation drive.
Review of Water Self-Reliance Projects
Minister Kharadi also inspected various development and water conservation works undertaken by the Watershed Department under the Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan (MJSA). Appreciating the efforts related to water conservation, he directed the concerned officials to further strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of the campaign.
Among those present on the occasion were Sub-Divisional Officer Kapil Kothari, Development Officer Jitendra Singh, Tehsildar Sita Ram, Watershed Department Executive Engineer Nitin Surana, Assistant Engineer Ashina Tiwari, social workers Bhanwar Singh Panwar, Shankar Lal Gadri, Sanjay Mehta, and several local residents.
Inspection of Water Conservation Works in Rishabhdeo
Similarly, in Rishabhdeo Panchayat Samiti, officials reviewed 69 works completed under the first phase and 115 works completed under the second phase of the Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan.
During the visit, villagers and attendees were encouraged to adopt water conservation practices and were administered a pledge for the protection and sustainable use of water resources.
Present on the occasion were Anil Sanadhya, Superintending Engineer of the Watershed Development and Soil Conservation Department, Udaipur, Suresh Parmar, Assistant Engineer, Rishabhdeo, Suraj Menaria, Junior Engineer, along with departmental staff and local villagers.
The program aimed to strengthen public participation in water conservation and promote sustainable management of natural resources across rural areas.
