Udaipur: A series of grand events will be organized in Udaipur to commemorate the 486th birth anniversary of the revered warrior king Maharana Pratap. The celebrations are being jointly organized by the Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha Institution, Udaipur City, the Udaipur Municipal Corporation, and various social organizations from across the Mewar region. Preparations for the festivities have already begun.
Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha City President Dr. Prithviraj Singh Chouhan informed that the celebrations will commence on June 10, while the main event will be held on June 17. On the occasion of the main celebration, floral tributes will be offered to the statue of Maharana Pratap at Moti Magri at 7:30 a.m. by members of various communities and organizations. The grand procession will begin from Pratap Memorial at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude at Town Hall, where participants will be welcomed at 10:30 a.m. A grand public function and assembly will then be held at Sukhadia Rangmanch at 11:00 a.m.
Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha Institution President Balu Singh Kanawat stated that the first event on June 10 will involve a ceremonial worship at the historic Haldighati Pass, followed by the collection of sacred soil from the battlefield. Prayers will also be offered at the Rajtilak site in Gogunda. In Udaipur, Maharana Pratap Abhishek and Aarti will be performed at Shri Ram Temple, Sector 11. Milk abhishek and garlanding ceremonies will be held at Maharana Pratap’s statue in the Municipal Corporation’s Shaurya Gallery, while another worship ceremony will take place at Shri Chaturbhuj Hanuman Temple, Haridas Ji Ki Magri.
Yaduraj Singh Thana of the Mahasabha informed that on June 11, floral tributes and a goodwill meeting will be organized at the statue of Hakim Khan Suri at Moti Magri Memorial. A grand Maha Aarti will be performed at Bhuvana Chouraha, and 486 lamps will be lit at Gangaur Ghat to mark Maharana Pratap Jayanti.
Celebration Convener Prem Singh Shaktawat said that on June 12, floral tributes will be offered at Maharana Pratap’s statue at Rana Pratap Railway Station. Worship and discussions will be organized at the Panna Dhai memorial on the island at Goverdhan Sagar, while prayers will also be conducted at the statue of Rana Punja at Reti Stand.
Mahasabha General Secretary Dilip Singh Bansi stated that June 13 will feature an Akhand Ramayan Path and milk abhishek of Lord Shiva at Shiv Park Temple in Purohiton Ki Madri. Lamps will be lit and prayers offered at Hadi Rani Circle in Salumber. Floral tributes will also be paid at the statue of Maharana Udai Singh near the Traffic Police Post at Udaipole. On the same day, a weapons worship ceremony and tribute to Maharana Pratap will be held at Kalka Mata Temple in Hathipole.
City Secretary Bhawani Singh Rathore informed that June 14 will witness the worship of the statue of Bhamashah at Hathipole Circle. A blood donation camp will be organized at Hotel The Park Classic on Durganursery Road. Activities at Chetak Circle will include worship of Maharana Pratap’s legendary horse Chetak, a display of valorous sword dances by women, patriotic skating performances, and demonstrations of martial skills by traditional wrestling akharas.
Seven-day programme coordinator Kamalendra Singh Panwar said that on June 15, worship ceremonies and seminars will be organized in honor of Jhala Maan at Moti Magri Memorial. Maharana Pratap’s statue will also be worshipped at Rajasthan College of Agriculture, while a lamp-lighting ceremony and lecture series will be held at Gawari Chouraha.
On June 16, tourists arriving at the City Railway Station will be welcomed with the sacred soil of Haldighati. On the eve of Maharana Pratap Jayanti, lamps will be lit, milk abhishek performed, and floral tributes offered at Maharana Pratap’s statue at Upbhokta Bhandar, Pratap Nagar. Similar ceremonies and Aarti will be held at Maharana Pratap Bus Stand near Bhutala Bus Stand. The day will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at Hotel Maharana Palace, Dakan Kotda, on Jaisamand Road.
