Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani Begins Five-Day Visit to Uttarakhand

New Delhi/Jaipur: Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani commenced his five-day visit to Uttarakhand on Tuesday. On the first day of his tour in Dehradun, he paid courtesy visits to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, and Panchayati Raj & Disaster Management Minister Madan Kaushik.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Appreciates Rajasthan Assembly Initiatives

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami warmly welcomed Speaker Devnani with a bouquet. During the meeting, Devnani presented the Chief Minister with a copy of a publication highlighting the innovative initiatives undertaken in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. He also shared details of various reforms, programmes, and institutional innovations being implemented in the Assembly.

Chief Minister Dhami appreciated the initiatives introduced under Devnani’s leadership and acknowledged the efforts being made to strengthen democratic institutions through innovation and public engagement.

Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan Commends the Initiatives

As part of his visit, Speaker Devnani also met Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan at the Assembly premises. Bhushan welcomed him with a bouquet and was presented with a copy of the book documenting the innovations introduced in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

During the interaction, Devnani briefed her on various reforms and programmes undertaken by the Rajasthan Assembly. Speaker Bhushan highly appreciated these initiatives and described the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly’s emblem as a reflection of the aspirations and values of the people of Rajasthan.

She particularly praised the decision to name the Assembly’s internal gateways as Kartavya Dwar (Duty Gate), Shakti Dwar (Power Gate), Sushasan Dwar (Good Governance Gate), Sankalp Dwar (Resolve Gate), and Shaurya Dwar (Valour Gate), calling it a historic and value-based initiative. She remarked that these names symbolize the core ideals of democracy and ensure that every person entering the Assembly feels they are entering not merely a building, but a sacred centre of democratic values and traditions.

Drawing a parallel with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives of naming important national institutions and spaces, Bhushan described the naming of the Assembly gates as a landmark contribution. She also appreciated the dedication of the Assembly’s external gates to Rajasthan’s major cultural regions—Brij, Shekhawati, Vagad, Hadoti, Marwar, Mewar, Merwara, and Dhundhar—stating that it represents an innovative effort to connect Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage and folk traditions with democratic institutions.

Warm Welcome by Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik

Upon his arrival at the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Speaker Devnani was welcomed by Panchayati Raj and Disaster Management Minister Madan Kaushik with a bouquet. Kaushik also honoured him with a traditional Uttarakhandi headgear and stole, symbols of the state's rich cultural heritage, folk traditions, and pride.
