Udaipur: The 12th Governing Council Meeting of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) was held on Thursday at the Zila Parishad Auditorium under the chairmanship of DMFT Chairman and District Collector Gaurav Agrawal. Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi attended the meeting as a special guest. Detailed discussions were held on the Trust’s income and expenditure, the progress of projects approved in previous meetings, and new proposals submitted by various departments.
The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia, Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi, Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain, Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena, Gogunda MLA Pratap Gameti, Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi, Mavli MLA Pushkarlal Dangi, and senior officials from various departments.
Zila Parishad ACEO Virma Ram informed the council that proposals worth approximately ₹250 crore were presented during the meeting. A progress report on projects approved in previous years was also reviewed. Since 2017, development works worth nearly ₹1,069 crore have been executed across various departments under the DMFT scheme.
Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi directed officials to expedite the submission of pending technical approvals for previously sanctioned projects. Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia stressed the need to commence approved projects at the earliest to ensure timely benefits to the public. He particularly suggested that construction works related to the Education Department be completed before the end of the summer vacation so that students can benefit when schools reopen.
Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat informed the meeting that, following approval from the State Government, the way has been cleared for the appointment of medical personnel against vacant posts in the Health Department through DMFT funds. This initiative is expected to significantly strengthen healthcare services in the district.
The council also unanimously approved a proposal to install an MRI machine at the District Hospital. In addition, discussions focused on key issues related to education, healthcare, drinking water supply, and infrastructure development. Public representatives emphasized strengthening school infrastructure by providing adequate buildings, classrooms, drinking water facilities, and other essential amenities.
Dr. Mannalal Rawat further suggested exploring the use of DMFT funds for establishing Parliamentary Clusters, constructing libraries for youth at the block level, developing stepwells and grazing lands, operating skill development centers in ITIs, and setting up agro-processing units.
Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi urged authorities to obtain approvals for pending state-level proposals at the earliest. He emphasized that providing sufficient and safe school buildings for students should be a top priority. He also highlighted the importance of ensuring access to quality drinking water.
Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena drew attention to the deteriorating condition of classrooms and school buildings. He also pointed out the need to repair a damaged 800-meter section of the drinking water pipeline supplying water from Jaisamand.
Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain and Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena proposed the installation of CCTV cameras at various locations across the city to further strengthen security arrangements.
Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi stressed the need to accelerate previously approved and ongoing projects. He also proposed the construction of a Dak Bungalow at Dabok Chauraha.
Gogunda MLA Pratap Gameti suggested conducting monthly review meetings to monitor the progress of approved school-related projects. He also called for an effective system to ensure timely repair and maintenance of hand pumps.
Concluding the meeting, District Collector Gaurav Agrawal reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to accelerating development works related to education, healthcare, drinking water, and infrastructure through DMFT funds, based on the suggestions and proposals received from public representatives, to maximize benefits for the people.
