MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat Raises Several Key Public Issues at the 12th Governing Council Meeting of DMFT; Proposals Worth ₹250 Crore Discussed, with Priority Given to Education and Healthcare

DMFT Funds to Facilitate Filling of Vacant Hospital Posts; MRI Machine to be Installed at District Hospital

Udaipur: Several public welfare issues were prominently raised by Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat during the 12th Governing Council Meeting of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), held on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Collector Gaurav Agrawal.

Dr. Rawat proposed the establishment of a diploma-level college in TD village, libraries at all block headquarters, horticulture and vegetable production hubs in ten villages of the Dewas Cluster and the Jawar–Chanawada Valley region, and the conservation of traditional stepwells across the district.

Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi attended the meeting as a special guest. Detailed discussions were held regarding the Trust’s income and expenditure, progress of previously approved projects, and new proposals submitted by various departments.

The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia, Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi, Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain, Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena, Gogunda MLA Pratap Gameti, Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi, Mavli MLA Pushkarlal Dangi, and senior officials from various departments.

Path Cleared for Recruitment of Healthcare Personnel Through DMFT Funds

During the meeting, Dr. Mannalal Rawat informed members that following the necessary approval from the State Government, the way has been cleared for appointing medical personnel to vacant positions in the Health Department through DMFT funds. This development is expected to significantly strengthen healthcare services across the district.

The council also unanimously approved a proposal for the installation of an MRI machine at the District Hospital. In addition, issues related to education, healthcare, drinking water supply, and infrastructure development received significant attention.

Public representatives emphasized the need to strengthen educational infrastructure by providing adequate school buildings, classrooms, drinking water facilities, and other essential amenities. Dr. Rawat also suggested exploring the use of DMFT funds for establishing parliamentary cluster facilities, constructing libraries for youth at the block level, developing stepwells and grazing lands, operating skill development centres in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and setting up agro-processing units.

Proposals Worth ₹250 Crore Presented

Zila Parishad Additional Chief Executive Officer Virma Ram informed the council that proposals worth approximately ₹250 crore were presented during the meeting. A progress report on projects approved in previous years was also reviewed.

Since 2017, development works worth nearly ₹1,069 crore have been carried out across various departments under the DMFT scheme.

Instructions to Expedite Pending Works; Focus on Education, Healthcare and Drinking Water

Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi directed officials to expedite the submission of pending technical approvals for previously sanctioned projects.

Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia emphasized that approved projects should be implemented without delay so that the public can benefit at the earliest. He particularly suggested completing education-related construction works before the end of the summer vacation to ensure facilities are ready when schools reopen.

C.P. Joshi Calls for Safe School Infrastructure

Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi stressed the need for prompt approval of pending proposals at the state level and stated that providing adequate and safe school buildings for students should remain a top priority. He also emphasized ensuring access to quality drinking water.

Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena highlighted the deteriorating condition of classrooms and school buildings in several areas. He also pointed out the need to repair a damaged 800-metre section of the drinking water pipeline carrying water from Jaisamand.

Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain and Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena jointly proposed the installation of CCTV cameras at various locations across the city to further strengthen public security.

Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi stressed the need to accelerate previously sanctioned and ongoing projects. He also proposed the construction of a Dak Bungalow at Dabok Chauraha.

Gogunda MLA Pratap Gameti suggested holding monthly review meetings to monitor the progress of approved school-related projects and ensure regular oversight. He also called for an effective mechanism to ensure timely repair and maintenance of hand pumps.

Concluding the meeting, District Collector Gaurav Agrawal reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to accelerating development initiatives in education, healthcare, drinking water supply, and infrastructure through DMFT funds, based on the proposals and suggestions received from public representatives, to maximize public benefit across the district.
