Udaipur: Dr. Shailendra Pandya, a young social worker from Udaipur and former Member of the Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, was honoured with the prestigious Veer Savarkar Samman 2026 at the Veer Savarkar National Conclave and Awards 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The event was organized by the Bharati Yuva Welfare Association with the support of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Dr. Pandya received the award in the category of Young Social Worker for Outstanding Contribution towards Nation Building and Social Development.

The award was presented in the distinguished presence of several eminent personalities, including Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Janardan Singh Sigriwal, Member of Parliament and former Minister, Shyam Jaju, senior BJP leader and former National Vice President, Ramesh Chandra Ratn, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the Ministry of Railways, Jagadguru Swami Sandipani Maharaj, Justice Lokpal Singh, and renowned Bollywood actor Surendra Pal Singh, best known for portraying Dronacharya in the television epic Mahabharat.

For the past 17 years, Dr. Pandya has been actively working in the field of child protection, with a special focus on the welfare and upliftment of children from tribal communities. He has played a significant role in rescuing hundreds of children from child labour and integrating them into mainstream education and society.

In recognition of his dedicated efforts and impactful social work, Dr. Pandya has previously been honoured on several national and international platforms. This latest recognition further acknowledges his unwavering commitment to child welfare, social justice, and nation-building initiatives.
