Udaipur: On the occasion of World Environment Day, PM SHRI School, Lakhawali, organized an environmental awareness program, tree plantation drive, bird water feeder (Parinda) installation competition, and environmental conservation poetry competition with the support of MY Bharat Centre Udaipur under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The Chief Guest of the program was Dr. Manjulata Parihar, Elementary Education Officer, Gram Panchayat Lakhawali. Dr. Himmat Ram Meghwal, Assistant Agriculture Officer, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Badgaon, attended as the Special Guest. The program was presided over by Dr. Hansa Joshi of University City College of Law, Mohanlal Sukhadia University.
District Youth Officer and Program Coordinator of MY Bharat Centre, Dr. Sameer Khan, encouraged students and young people to take an active role in environmental conservation. Jagdish Puri Goswami, a staff member of MY Bharat Centre Udaipur, was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Manjulata Parihar emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, cleanliness, and tree plantation. She stated that maintaining ecological balance requires every individual to plant trees and ensure their regular care and protection.
Special Guest Dr. Himmat Ram Meghwal highlighted the importance of water conservation, reducing plastic usage, and the judicious utilization of natural resources. In her presidential address, Dr. Hansa Joshi inspired young people to transform environmental conservation into a mass movement.
As part of the event, several competitions were organized. In the Environmental Conservation Poetry Competition, Gunjan Gameti secured first place, while Muskan Gameti won second place. In the Chart-Making Competition, Jinal Meghwal secured first position and Charu Rathore stood second.
All participants were honored with certificates of appreciation. A tree plantation drive was also conducted on the school campus, and students took a pledge to actively contribute to environmental protection and sustainability.
The program was compered by local school teacher Rajkumari Paneri, while Raju Kunwar successfully coordinated and managed the event. A large number of students, youth volunteers, and local residents participated enthusiastically in the program.
The event effectively promoted awareness about environmental protection and encouraged community participation in creating a greener and more sustainable future.
