Narayan Seva Sansthan Gives New Wings to the Dreams of 21 Differently-Abled Couples at Its 46th Mass Wedding Ceremony

New Delhi: When poverty, disability, and social challenges stand like barriers on life's path, helping someone fulfill their dreams becomes nothing short of a blessing. Bringing a new dawn of happiness into the lives of 21 differently-abled and underprivileged couples, Narayan Seva Sansthan organized its 46th Free Mass Wedding Ceremony, where not only were two hearts united through the sacred seven vows, but years of struggle, waiting, and unfulfilled dreams also found their destination.

Held in New Delhi, the emotional ceremony witnessed 21 couples from various states, including Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh, exchange wedding vows in the presence of sacred Vedic chants and the holy fire. The wedding pavilion was filled with touching moments—tearful parents witnessing their children's happiness and newlyweds glowing with hope for a brighter future. With every wedding ritual, it seemed as though the clouds of hardship were giving way to the sunshine of hope.

The two-day event began with traditional ceremonies such as Ganesh Sthapana, Haldi, and Mehendi. The celebrations were enriched by folk songs, Ghoomar performances, and cultural dances, creating an atmosphere filled with joy, tradition, and emotion. Guests and volunteers showered the couples with blessings, wishing them a happy, dignified, and prosperous married life.

During the ceremony, the institution's President, Prashant Agarwal, Director Vandana Agarwal, and Trustee Devendra Choubisa honored supporting donors and distinguished guests through a traditional felicitation ceremony.

To help the newlyweds begin their married lives with stability and dignity, Narayan Seva Sansthan gifted each couple essential household items, including beds, wardrobes, gas stoves, fans, mixers, and more than 100 varieties of kitchen utensils and household goods. Several donors from Delhi also contributed generously, sharing in the couples’ happiness through additional gifts.

Speaking on the occasion, President Prashant Agarwal said, “A mass wedding is not merely the union of two individuals; it is a celebration of dignity, equality, and social harmony. Our mission is to ensure that no differently-abled or economically disadvantaged person is deprived of this important life milestone due to a lack of resources.”

A Story of Love, Struggle, and Hope

Among the couples, the story of Shibu Kumar and Geeta Kumari from Jharkhand touched many hearts. The couple had been supporting each other for the past two years, but financial hardship and social challenges stood in the way of their marriage. Shibu has deformities in both legs, while Geeta is differently-abled in her right leg.

When hope began to fade, they turned to Narayan Seva Sansthan for support. The institution assisted in Geeta’s medical treatment and provided Shibu with modern calipers, significantly improving his mobility. Eventually, the couple was married on the very platform that had rekindled hope in their lives.

With tears of gratitude in her eyes, Geeta said, “Narayan Seva Sansthan is like God to us. Because of the institution, I have found my love and the opportunity to build my own family.”

Another Dream Comes True

The story of Mukesh and Durga from Banswara, Rajasthan, is another inspiring example of perseverance and faith. Mukesh lost his father at an early age, and his mother supports the family through daily wage labor. Durga’s father suffers from mental illness. In 2009, Durga underwent a successful corrective surgery through Narayan Seva Sansthan, and today she works as a teacher in a private school.

Amid financial and family hardships, marriage seemed like a distant dream. However, the institution once again brought light into their lives. After the wedding, an emotional Durga said, “In 2009, the institution gave me the confidence to walk, and today it has blessed me with a life partner. For me, this is not just a wedding—it is a new beginning, a new life.”

Four Decades of Service and Compassion

For more than four decades, Narayan Seva Sansthan has been dedicated to serving humanity with compassion and commitment. To date, the organization has facilitated the marriages of 2,582 differently-abled and underprivileged couples. This is not merely a statistic—it represents thousands of families whose lives have been transformed with dignity, confidence, and hope.

The institution’s founder, Kailash Manav Agarwal, was honored with the Padma Shri in 2008, while President Prashant Agarwal received a National Award in 2023. The organization has also provided more than 39,388 free artificial limbs and delivered free medical treatment to over 452,000 patients.

This ceremony was much more than a wedding event—it was a powerful reminder that when society embraces compassion and inclusivity, barriers such as disability and poverty cannot stand in the way of dreams.
