Construction of Massive Pandal Begins with Bhoomi Pujan for Haldighati Victory 450th Anniversary Celebrations
Preparations Continue for the National Awakening Pledge Convention on June 17
Udaipur MP Performs Bhoomi Pujan Along with His Wife at Gandhi Ground
Udaipur: With the chanting of Vedic hymns and prayers dedicated to Mother Earth, the construction of a massive pandal for the upcoming Rashtra Chetna Sankalp Sabha (National Awakening Pledge Convention) commenced on Monday morning at Gandhi Ground following a traditional Bhoomi Pujan ceremony.
The convention is being organized under the aegis of Pratap Gaurav Kendra, a “National Pilgrimage Centre,” as part of the celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap and the 450th anniversary of the historic Victory of Haldighati. The event will be held at Maharana Bhupal Stadium, Gandhi Ground, on June 17 at 9:30 a.m., where Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will address the gathering.
Anurag Saxena, Director of Pratap Gaurav Kendra, informed that the Bhoomi Pujan was conducted according to Vedic rituals under the guidance of Pandit Yogesh Shrimali and priest Laxman. Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat and his wife Dr. Rajni P. Rawat performed the ceremony as the chief yajmans.
Among those present on the occasion were BJP State Vice-President Dr. Alka Mundra, Badgaon Pradhan Pratibha Nagda, RSS Vibhag Sanghchalak Hemendra Shrimali, Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Samiti President Prof. Bhagwati Prakash Sharma, General Secretary Deepak Kumar Shukla, Vice Presidents Ashok Purohit, Suhas Manohar and Subhash Bhargava, Minister Dr. Raman Sood, Executive Member Chandragupt Singh Chauhan, Narendra Meena and several other dignitaries.
With the completion of the Bhoomi Pujan, work on the grand pandal began immediately.
Program Convener CA Mahavir Chaplot stated that three giant domes will be erected at the venue. Additional stages will be constructed on both sides of the main stage for distinguished guests. Separate seating blocks will be arranged for attendees, while facilities such as medical assistance, drinking water, and literature stalls will also be available. A special exhibition showcasing the valor and heroism of Maharana Pratap will be another major attraction of the event.
It is noteworthy that various programs have been organized throughout the year to commemorate the 450th anniversary of Maharana Pratap’s victory in the Battle of Haldighati. Coincidentally, this year Maharana Pratap Jayanti falls on June 17, one day before Haldighati Victory Day on June 18, corresponding to Jyeshtha Shukla Tritiya, the traditional birth date of Maharana Pratap.
The entire nation will celebrate Maharana Pratap Jayanti on June 17, and the year-long commemorative events being conducted under the banner of Pratap Gaurav Kendra will conclude with the grand National Awakening Pledge Convention on the same day.
