Grand Kalash Procession Marks the Beginning of Seven-Day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Festival

Udaipur: The seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Mahotsav, organized by Shri Tailik Sahu Samaj Chhah Baithak, Udaipur, commenced today at Maheshwari Seva Sadan, Teej Ka Chowk. On the inaugural day, renowned spiritual preacher Param Pujya 1008 Shri Anantram Shastri Maharaj highlighted the significance of the Shrimad Bhagwat and delivered an inspiring message that deeply touched the hearts of devotees.

Describing the glory of the sacred scripture, Maharaj said, “Once a person listens to the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha with faith and devotion, spiritual upliftment is assured. People need not worry about achieving salvation themselves; they only need to come and listen to the Katha sincerely. Thereafter, God Himself takes care of the rest.”

He explained that household life is itself a form of penance, where individuals continuously fulfill responsibilities toward family and society. In such circumstances, the divine teachings of the Bhagwat provide mental peace, spiritual strength, and guidance for a righteous life.

During the discourse, Maharaj narrated an episode from the life of Narad Ji, explaining how the sage once desired to visit the earthly realm. Through this story, he emphasized that listening to the Shrimad Bhagwat during the sacred Purushottam Maas yields spiritual merit equivalent to the accumulated virtues of many lifetimes.

He further stated, “There is no Purana greater than the Shrimad Bhagwat in the entire universe. Its glory is so profound that even great sages and saints have descended to Earth to listen to its teachings.”

The atmosphere became deeply devotional when Maharaj led the congregation in singing bhajans such as “Shrimad Narayan... Shrimad Narayan...” and “Radhe-Radhe.” Women devotees enthusiastically raised their hands and danced to the devotional songs, filling the entire venue with spiritual fervor and joy.

A large number of devotees attended the Katha and benefited from its teachings on faith, devotion, and spirituality. Throughout the event, the venue witnessed a remarkable blend of devotion, enthusiasm, and reverence.

Society President Advocate Hemendra Pandiyar informed that the event was formally inaugurated earlier in the day with a grand Kalash Yatra. Organized on the auspicious occasion of Purushottam Maas, the religious event saw enthusiastic participation from women and devotees of the community.

General Secretary Kanhaiyalal Nainawa stated that hundreds of women dressed in yellow sarees participated in the grand Kalash procession, which commenced at 11 a.m. from the Hanuman Temple at Delhi Gate. Carrying sacred Kalash pots, the procession passed through Teej Ka Chowk, Tel Bazaar, Hanuman Chowk, and Dhanmandi, before reaching Maheshwari Seva Sadan. Along the route, devotees welcomed the sacred Shrimad Bhagwat with flower showers and garlands.

At the Katha venue, Society President Hemendra Pandiyar, Bharat Pachlodiya, Jagdish Padiyar, Chandrashekhar Dashora, Kapil Daya, Mithalal Nainawa, and other office-bearers warmly welcomed Param Pujya 1008 Shri Anantram Shastri Maharaj, who had arrived from Divya Ramdwara, Bari Sadri, with floral tributes and garlands.

Kanhaiyalal Nainawa further informed that the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha will continue from June 8 to June 14, daily from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Maheshwari Seva Sadan, Teej Ka Chowk. On Tuesday, women devotees will attend the discourse dressed in red attire as part of the devotional celebrations.
